So apparently it was released a bit early (on the 30th instead of the 31st) but it was all sneaky about it. I was wondering why steam did a 8.2 gig update lol. Started a new character!

also Kym my dear monster trash, you gotta review that -I hope- fixed Fane romance when you can plz Of course my dear! I actually plan on playing in a few mins! haha. I'm hoping his missing dialogue is totally fixed! Still have a long way to go till I land in Arx for it, but I'll also keep a close eye out for any new romance dialogue he might have on my way to act 3 if there is any.

Miracle of Sound released its DoS2 song yesterday. Gavin Dunne is so great
Seriously lovely song. Making it really really hard to pick between these characters, I love that they each get a verse! It's making me really indecisive as to who's coming with me when I play this weekend.
Right now I'm thinking Lohse, Sebille, and Ifan. I really do want to see Beast's new story though. Red Prince is still an easy cut.

Well installing DOS2 again now that I'm "free" let's bone a skeleton I hope this mod works for the ED because... damn the faces are better, vanilla faces are horrible, as far I know the Godwoken does not have a canon age, I dont know why every human male face look so old-looking Edit. Yes the mod works and MY CHARACTER IS YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL YAS! Maybe I'll change his age in my character sheets in my signature

I decided to finally go ahead and start playing this game last week during my time off work and it has been so much fun and definitely better than I expected! It took a bit to understand the controls and battle system...I changed the some of default settings to make movement more comfortable for me. The defaults were too awkward.
I still don't think I understand everything completely...which has probably made the game a bit more difficult than it really is! I'm definitely enjoying the combat though and like that is a turn-based system. It's definitely given me time to consider what my next move would be or how to best approach the situation...a nice change from other tactical games I've played! Some of the progress I've made so far in the game... I'm definitely loving Ifan as much as I thought I would, easily my favorite companion! I really loved how adorable he was when I asked him if he got "lonely" on the road...and then getting a bear hug from him after completing his quest! It makes me so happy that for once...I'm actually getting the guy I want instead of being told "this character can't be gay"! He also has the benefit of being my best character in combat and has helped me out of tough situations! My party has been Ifan, Lohse, and Sebille the entire time...I didn't really bother with the others...I already know I won't like Red Prince (I'm seeing a pattern here...) and Beast just didn't interest me as much as the women. I'll check out Fane another time though...he has me curious! Lohse is my second favorite behind Ifan...she's like a mix of some characters I've like in the past! I'm not very good at using her in battle though...so I'll have to try and understand her class better to be able to use her at her best. Sebille didn't interest me as much as the other two, but I liked her enough to keep her around. I'm interested in seeing where she ends up... I'm only decent at using her in combat, but she tends to be targeted the most and killed the most. I feel like I did pretty much everything possible in Fort Joy even when I didn't have to...but I wanted experience to continue leveling up my characters! So I ended up seeing all the different escape routes even though I didn't have to. I think one of my favorite encounters yet was comforting a blind man and having a tender, romantic-ish moment with him but being parted due to him being a Magister and I a Sourceror. Anyway I managed to escape the island but oh boy was that battle to get there difficult! I had to try several different approaches before finding one that worked! I mainly blame that worm for making it more difficult than it needed to be...but I also ended up using it to my advantage. I found it best to just skip the dialogue and do a sneak attack from the left at the highest point (thanks teleportation!) and take on them until the worm showed up, where they turned their attention there as I killed them one by one and the also damaged the worm. I'm really looking forward to spending more time with this game soon! It's been so much fun! I am curious about the multiplayer mode though...my boyfriend wants to play this one as well as the first game with me.

Questions questions! I know some companions die if they are not with you at some point in the game, what happens if I don't recruit them? do they still die? also, can I finish their personal quests before they die? I guess I cant do it hence giving me some replayability (Ifan romance wink wink) Also I didnt know you can choose more than 2 schools, I'm thinking about polymorph skills because I'm a witch and need some magic mojo apart from my earth magic and wings are cool also default Fane has geomancy like me, so I'm thinking of giving him an extra school but I havent decided it yet, necromancy is fitting for a skeleton lmao

Theyll be there even if you never talk to them in Fort Joy. This is right before act 2 starts so no you wont be able to do any personal quests because it takes most of the game to complete those. I usually put a few points into polymorph because the wings skill is really nice for teleporting around. I kept Fane as his default too and his geomancy (good poison spells for self heal on him) I usually keep as well as his pyrokitnetic. Earth synergizes really well with fire spells what with all the oil fields to set ablaze.

It saddens me because I like to switch companions from time to time. Ifan is the one that hurts me most, but one woman in my main party is a big no. I guess it's good for a future Ifan romance run, and to know better Beast and... RP.... Glad to hear polymorph is a cool skill! I thought Fane had fire and air/electricity magic, when I saw the earth icon i was like damn bae that's my thing but it's soo cool how customizable powers and skills are on this game. I mean, I'm an archer witch with earth magic and telekinesis that talk with animals and I will have the ability fly in the future Only problem is that my party will be full of magic people (default Lohse has water and air magic I think) except Sebille who is a rogue lmao. Well, everyone is a Source magic user anyway.

When you recruit each companion, youll have a chance to change their defaults to whatever you want! I tend to make Ifan my melee warrior because having someone who can tank a bit is VERY helpful. Also the AI in this game is pretty good and enemies do tend to target/focus on your squishier team members first. Sebille and Fane get chased after all the time. I like Sir Lora but hes kind of annoying me right now. He kept dying during a huge fight that involved a lot of fire fields last night, like 3 times. I had to reload because theres no option to even ressurect him with a scroll or anything. Ugh.

Oh I know but I like to leave the characters in default state because it feels like I'm changing them or something lmao at least in this canon/main run. I'm playing on story mode so hopefully I dont have to yell at my screen too much //////// Ifan is a total crush omg, soooo charming I'm headcanoning that I'm falling for him before he dies. Then fall for Fane lmao (I dont even know when/how the romances start tho) I'm such sucker for drama Doing Ifan, Beast and RP personal quests from act 1 now, it's the least I can do for them! glad Andrew Mancer got a guy he loves on this game!!! Congratsssss dearieeeeeeeee

So I'm pretty slow playing games, even more when it comes to rpgs. I'm taking my time to explore, speak and ofc get all what I can get from some companions (because you know)... Only to find out that to progress in Sebille quest you need to speak with Griff (that was his name?) who is long time dead by now, so I need to reload lmao seriously for my own mental sake, I cant wait to have the main party already in act 2 I dont even care anymore for the companions that are going to die XDD also, I still dont get used to the mechanics of the game...

glad Andrew Mancer got a guy he loves on this game!!! Congratsssss dearieeeeeeeee Yes! It's about time I got the perfect medieval boyfriend after missing out on Alistair, Sebastian, Cullen, Blackwall...and even Edér! Seriously, the more I get to know him, the more I fall in love with him! I'm still really loving this game...but it is so overwhelming with such a large map with so many active quests...many of which I am way too under-leveled for! I'm still trying to figure out which are best for me to tackle at the moment and which should be saved for later...so it has resulted in a lot of deaths and wandering around. Also getting better at combat...but not as well as I'd hoped!

Only to find out that to progress in Sebille quest you need to speak with Griff This happened to me on my playthrough Im doing now and I didnt want to reload so I just kept going. Btw, her quest will still continue with its arc even if you dont talk to Griff lol, itll just trigger again down the road once you leave Fort Joy.

Romance question! I'm afraid I may have accidentally ended up in a relationship with Sebille. I'm at the point where we are about to kill her master. She taught me the song and assumed we were together. I didn't kiss her though. Have I messed up my chances with Ifan? I don't even remember taking any flirty lines with Sebille, yet I've gone the flirty route with Ifan each time.
Aside from that, I'm really loving this game despite how difficult it has been! It's been a long process of trial and error trying to figure out which quests I could tackle and which had to be done later. I feel like I've only made it as far as I have through sheer persistence and luck! I don't like the "open" aspect because of this - I feel like I was overwhelmed with too many quests all at once and many of which were beyond my current level, and trying to wander through the large map didn't help either! Despite that though, I've really enjoyed the combat and trying to get through the more difficult battles by taking different approaches. According to Steam I have 82 hours in the game so far! I'm just wondering how much more there is to it all!

My understanding is that there is no exclusivity to romances, you can technically romance everyone, but near the end of the game you can only invite a single person to your cabin to spend time together. However i've never tried personally so i'm not 100% on that. I did the same thing with Sebille though, just tried to be as nice as possible and she goes for you.
Yea there's a crazy amount of content in the game. Makes replays pretty hard. Good thing there's a story mode now to help speed things up. The final act used to be pretty short, but they redesigned it completely I hear, so you may have a ways to go!

Going through this game has been worth it just for Ifan alone. I am absolutely in love with his romance and character. Nostalgia aside, I think he can really rival Kaidan for being my favorite romance in a game. It felt so good finally getting the guy I want without the typical BioWare excuse/mods. This is why I am in full support of the all-bisexual route! Seriously, it made me so happy when he said he always wanted me, and that romance scene was just so sweet! It's been a good, yet difficult, experience and I've had fun...but I am a bit glad I am nearing the end after so many hours invested in the game!

Finally finished the game! It was an overall fun experience from beginning to end. I was ready to just give up at the end though, had to drop the difficulty and the final fight was still a nightmare. Still, I absolutely loved Ifan. He was just so sweet and exactly what I've been looking for. But that ending slide...it's like they didn't even bother factoring in the romances there...he's just never seen again? I don't believe it, not after everything he said to me and his last words on the ship... That doesn't ruin the romance for me though because the rest of it was just perfect. It will definitely be a while before I revisit this game though, as much as I loved it! I need a break from the difficulty of it, haha.
I played 105 hours according to Steam. The time just seemed to fly by as I played!
