My ideal romance options in Dragon Age 4 would be A) the Knight in Shining Armor type, the blond, sweetheart, gentle soul who is genuinely nice, and is 100% gay, is not and will never have a romantic relationship with a woman, B) a werewolf struggling with the curse, play the "Beauty and the Beast" love story, because that's a narrative that's always had a queer undertone, and C) an elf (city-born or Dalish, I'm flip-flopping on this) who is proud and unwavering in his support of his people and culture while still standing against Solas/Fen'Harel. The knife to the gut is that I don't expect any of these to happen. Didnt know you were in werewolf's boat! I would luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Beauty and the beast gay romance I know I'm tiresome asking this but I just need it in my life. As much as I love the tale and the Disney movie and The Shape of Water to name a recent work, it saddens me badly I'm not going to see something like this but in gay in my lifetime (I'm talking about mainstream fiction, indie is a better place) I do think too that many lgbtq BW romances are a mess and kinda unhealthy, but I guess those flaws make them human that's why I like them. I could use some healthy *without angst* lgbtq romances though.

Thought I'd post this here, too.
So I was thinking about race distribution. I don't think everything needs to "even out" or anything, but it's interesting to see it laid out like this, especially as there are so many non-human enthusiasts on the board as well as people who prefer to romance humans exclusively. (I only counted romances that have tiles in the Keep, so no Harding or Anora, Tamlen or Gorim, etc.)
M/F: 5 humans, 1 elf, 0 qunari, 0 dwarves F/M: 5 humans, 3 elves, 1 qunari, 0 dwarves M/M: 2 humans, 2 elves, 1 qunari, 0 dwarves F/F: 3 humans, 2 elves, 0 qunari, 0 dwarves
And classes... (counting Josie as a rogue because she was a bard for a bit)
M/F: 1 warrior, 3 rogues, 2 mages F/M: 5 warriors, 2 rogues, 2 mages M/M: 2 warriors, 1 rogue, 2 mages F/F: 0 warriors, 4 rogues, 1 mage

I'll gladly trade them to the other groups for more non humans.

I'll gladly trade them to the other groups for more non humans. Yeah, I think part of it is just demographics... in-universe, humans are more populous than the others, and out-of-universe, the devs know humans are a safe bet for most players, especially straight guys, since Tali and Liara were about as strange as many M/F players were willing to go for a while there (and even still, asari are basically blue humans with tentacle hair and 99% of Tali fanart has her looking like a human with purple eyes ). I definitely think they should branch out a bit, throw another elf in there and either a dwarf or qunari. And different backgrounds too, as Cassandra and Josephine were both human Andrastian non-mage nobles. Also F/F is severely overloaded with rogues and F/M has a ridiculous number of warriors, damn.

No lesbian warriors exist. this is unbelievable, just like gay aliens. Everyone knows this.

the fact that every non-PC F/F romance of note in the series has been abusive and manipulative (Marjolaine/Leliana, Branka/Hespith, Celene/Briala Just want to add that they've been better about this, with Sera/Dagna (if you don't romance her) and Tessa/Charter.

You speak the truth with that first paragraph, its hard out there for a xenophile lol. It was just funny to me that everyone else got a non human except m/f, that being said Cassandra was a really sweet romance so I was appeased, more non humans in the future though!!!!

I just came from watching Aquaman ... are there merfolk in DA? XD Nothing official, but then, that just means they're good at not being seen, especially with the people of Thedas so concerned about the land and the Deep Roads, as opposed to the seas. So I say there's a possibility. I mean, Isabela's ship was called the Siren's Song, so they have myths about sirens...

Davrin's boobs It's funny that you mention Ambrose because I just finished watching the latest episode of The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina! He's definitely one of the more enjoyable aspects of the show for me. I wouldn't mind an Ambrose-like love interest, after the KISA of course!

I watched yesterday too!!!! I love the show and Ambrose is so dreamy Talking about mage/mage romance, if that happens I hope the sub-class of the love interest is not a knight enchanter/Arcane warrior, that always is my favorite type of magical boy

I'm honestly a bit jealous of straight men and women having so many human options (with four of those straight human males being the types I've been longing for). I'm really only interested in humans, but I might be willing to try another elf romance if I am able to find him attractive (Fenris and Zevran don't do it for me), enjoy their personality (I think I can give this one to Zevran), and the romance itself being interesting enough...but I doubt BioWare will be able to get one that meets those requirements for me...I haven't found any of the male elves to be really attractive since Origins. I can't see myself going for a Qunari or Dwarf romance unfortunately so those aren't options for me, but I do hope those that have been wanting a male dwarf romance do get one eventually. Going four games without any dwarf options is a bit much and I hope now that Varric's story is likely over we'll get new and interesting characters to fill that void.
As far as class goes, it won't really matter to me if I can get my ideal KISA/Prince Charming in the next game. Until then, I'd prefer the warrior type to hopefully get the KISA/Prince I've been waiting for. After that? I could see myself going for another mage or rogue.
Talking about mage/mage romance, if that happens I hope the sub-class of the love interest is not a knight enchanter/Arcane warrior, that always is my favorite type of magical boy I hope you can get your Ambrose mage someday! I do get it though...having too many of the same class doesn't make things easy! I always run into this problem in DA2 where I end up without a warrior thanks to my favorites being the same class.

Speaking of, I made this poll if anyone hasn't seen it yet, just to gauge which races are most popular with which players. I think you are not alone in your tastes, though the others have their fans as well.
