Too bad there was no more time for QnA ;( Anyone else going to get this for Early Access? Oh absolutely. Can not wait to dive into it. I'm dying to see the other Tiefling subrace options.
I'm still anxious about how many classes they'll add before launch though. I usually play Druid, but so far that's not confirmed.

I'm guessing they won't have as much as Throne of Bhaal BG2 with stuff like Kensai, but druid surely is such a staple that they wouldn't leave it out? Even Diablo 4 is giving me werewolf transformation, don't let me down BG3! Also, bad news for lots of peeps here - it's PC only, and if they bring it to consoles, it will probably be next-gen only.

That's a shame but I'm planning to get PS5 first day at release, god bless capitalism 🤡 and I need to play the enhanced editions and the midquel first and I HAVE NO TIME I doubt my PC can run this game, DOS2 was a torture to play in my potato XD *goes to have vivid wet dreams of Berath til they reveal a queer tiefling companion*

I’m not surprised about the next gen console thing. Means I won’t be playing on release, but then, it’s not like I don’t have a great deal too many games to play on my docket as is - I still haven’t gotten far in the first Baldur’s Gate, so...
And it’s like the situation with Waylanders. Console release subsequent to the PC. It’s not really surprising.
But I can still watch in eager anticipation until it’s out with the rest of you!

Another romance info article "Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch in Early Access with five companions to begin with, with more coming later. Throughout the main campaign, all companions are open to romance from all other characters, and senior writer Adam Smith is looking to create more complex relationships, with the help of Dungeons & Dragons lore to mess with the players’ heart strings." www.vg247.com/2020/02/27/baldurs-gate-3-romance-all-companions/

The Early Access version will launch with the in-development first act and five characters with special origins, who you might recognise from the demo. Here's who you'll be able to play as and recruit:
Wyll - Human Warlock Shadowheart - Half-elf Cleric Lae'zel - Githyanki Fighter Gale - Human Wizard Astarion - Elven vampire spawn, Rogue
Origin characters have set classes and backgrounds, but you'll also be able to make your own custom character. Here are the classes and archetypes available in Early Access:
Fighter - Battle Master, Eldritch Knight Wizard - Evocation, Abjuration Rogue - Arcane Trickster, Thief Ranger - Hunter, Beast Master Cleric - Life, Light, Trickery Warlock - Fiend, Great One
The races range from the classics, including elves, dwarves, humans and so on, to the more exotic, like githyanki, drow, tieflings and even vampire spawn. They've all got unique hooks, like the vampire spawn's ability to feed on sleeping companions, and even in just the two hours of gameplay I've watched there seemed to be a lot of roleplaying opportunities tied to your choice of race.

Here's who you'll be able to play as and recruit Oh, that clears things up. I saw some of the demo with Astarion as the PC and was confused, why people were talking about him as a companion. Anywho, I don't like early access, but I'm hoping that the open type of development means people will be able to ask them for more races. I'd really really like to play as a Rakshasa or an Aarakocra. I was upset about having to kill instead of recruiting (or playing as) Rakshasas way back when I first played BG2

I've never played Baldur's Gate though this one being very DOS2 like has certainly grabbed my attention. Also Tieflings. Daaayum. Definitely hope we get more companions though as other than Lae'zel they're all... very Humany looking, even the elves. Already got my eye on Wyll though because I'm a slut for Heterochromia. Only time I'll ever write a sentence with hetero in it.

Ark found a line in an article that looks like it confirms druid is in the game "We had to limit a few spells because some don’t work as written in a video game. For example, wish is a very powerful spell it was difficult to translate. Or as a related example, as a druid you could choose to wild shape into any animal you’ve ever encountered, but realistically for our game we had to choose which those would be.” dnd.dragonmag.com/2020/03/02/in-the-works-baldurs-gate-iii/content.html“The more you use your tadpole by selecting it from the options within dialogue, the stronger the influence of your tadpole becomes. But the more you use it, the quicker you unlock your powers."- Interesting lol

Also something from the article that really stood out to me: "There are fights you can sneak around, you can use your Charisma and convince people to let you through and so forth. If you’re extraordinarily lucky with your dice rolls you may not fight a single time!"
I love making characters that are completely useless in combat and just focus on persuasion checks. Loving this game more and more.
