Yeah Dorn is really hard to romance with the weird morality system of old school D&D.
I believe any romance in BG1 EE has little to nothing to do with the main game because all the romances from that are specific to the EE so it is almost impossible for the game to track that they’ve even occurred. Especially siege of Dragonspear stuff. In BG2 EE there were straight romances in the non enhanced addition and it was built into the game to track romance reactivity for a couple of quests so I believe that BG2 EE is harder to do multiple romances sometimes but not impossible as I believe the only reactivity is in companion quests and certain companion rivalry mechanics. But dorn being EE specific he kinda exists outside the original roster.

I tried to watch Dorn's quest on youtube to see what's going on there...wow-I could never romance him. He's like not a grey character, he's just an asshole through and through it would seem. (unless I'm missing something) I mean you can make "evil" characters that are still somewhat likable, but I didn't see it with him. -shrug-

Execs always ruining everything they touch, fuck them

Execs always ruining everything they touch, fuck them yep! I don't think I'm missing much by not playing these games (at least on the romance level). There's already rpg's that do have nice romances that I just don't have time for all of that. (well there's not a lot, but there are enough that "ain't nobody got time for that" applies.) I hope the third game has some really nice content. I feel like they were going the right direction with Divinity original sin 2, but also...really only liked one of the romances. I felt like they really didn't finish that aspect of the game. Especially Fane who nearly doesn't even change when romanced save for the sexy times scene. Don't even get me started on how the Beast Mance was just played off as a joke and really nothing else.

Produced some pretty bad writing because motivation for behavior becomes “ I do this because I am lawful evil” and not really anything to do with the particulars of a character. Dorn is a blackguard too, and any class with a set morality restriction is especially unforgivable in their blunt writing. 5th edition d&d has de-emphasized alignment but it still rears it’s poorly planned out head.

Yeah I love getting away from it. Especially in terms of race... was weird that for so long it was accepted that all goblins, all orcs, all drow etc were not good. Now they just have to complicate the gods more. For instance, why are all orc gods still basically evil when essentially they are responding to an ancient betrayal by the elven gods? The elven gods are still uniformly presented as “good” despite this. But progress has been made.

So... o Area is not longer a black void o Completed (at least I think lol, checking wikia if I missed some quests) x Refuse to do because of roleplay ~ Tales of the Sword Coast DLC (not touching that yet) Am I missing DLC areas?? I'm going to the lighthouse now edit. I gotta say this game has so many companions, is overwhelming ... I rather have less and more content. Also, some of them are so annoying lol

It’s pretty commendable you are being a completionist! I’ve never done huge parts of both games.
My favorite awkward aspect of companions was when neera actively turned on me because I dismissed her three times and so I had to reload and was stuck with her in my part the rest of the game or she would die.

I just stole the treasure from the sirines with just Safana cloaking into the shadows, I havent even killed the meat golems lol since Mihai and his merry men and women didnt do that I guess is a win win He is going to dismiss her after this edit2. tried to give the treasure back, sirines attacked, I flied, treasure is mine for good

So if you bring her back in your party now when you go to dismiss her she may attack you and potentially kill civilians with an aoe spell or a wild magic effect.

I think the main thing I'm excited for, for the Early Access, is access to the character creator. I already have the names/races/classes for my first two (technically three with the one I have planned to play with friends on full release) characters, so with the CC I get to see how close I can make them to what I have envisioned already lol. The 30th September seems so far away. (lol watch it be postponed to spite me. XD)

the one spell per day system is so damn annoying and I really hope that is ditched in the third game, I have a lot of items to identify and I'm just spamming the rest option ... also the rep system sucks, opening chests with Imoen since she is ... well a thief in canon without stealing anything just opening those chests (lockpicking fetish? lol) and lowering my rep to stay neutral good. Also one of those items was a cloak that can turn me into a wolf OMG but I dont know how to use it lol edit. I tested the Neera thing and she didnt attack me, dismissed her a lot of times

Oh good. They might have gotten rid of it. Beamdog is pretty good at that kind of thing. My last run through was before DAI came out and then I tried Siege of Dragonspear on my iPad but I never finished a whole run. For a decades old game BG has gotten a whole new life with Beamdog.

And Faldorn, who is supposed to be like an anti-society, nature preservationist Druid likes him or some reason.
