The funny thing is, despite how easy BioWare games are to most of the people who are constantly going on about how great they are at games...only 30 percent of the people on ps4 finished Mass Effect Andromeda. That's not saying it's hard, but it does show that it takes dedication to complete any game. So I don't see why harder games are a bigger accomplishement. I feel just as happy about my platinum trophy. Almost no one else got it. It's like super low percentage rate. I got skills (or a lot of time to kill...whatever). I don't care about earning trophies, and I actually kinda dislike the concept. I would much rather get in-game rewards, if they're gonna do a system like that. I don't need bragging rights, I don't have any PSN friends to show off to anyway. Lol.

Those monsters look really great. I love the designs! The blend of fantasy horror (werewolves, vampires, witches) with cosmic horror is pretty revolutionary in Bloodborne and gives some really unique enemies, bosses, and themes. Personally when the game gets into body horror (menstruation themes, impregnation themes, transformation themes, birth themes, vagina dentatas) I kind of mostly chuckled and it became comedic (for me, birth does not bother me). Like there are a bunch of scholar dudes from the "School of Mensis" trapped in the Nightmare of Mensis. Mensis is latin and the root of it is lunar cycle, also meaning month, and was used as the root of the word menstruation, and the plural form, menses, is still used to mean menstruation, and so mensis also means menstruation. So a bunch of dudes are having an existential crisis about a menstruation Typical. There was also a dude who looked like a horse who spewed a white, frothy liquid out his second head at me. But I'll take my facials where I can get them, and I got a nice sword that shoots moonlight lasers to boot But I kind of love the game and the design, and the blood aspect and the horror of the blood and the cosmic presence causing chaos aspect of the game, I think in minor doses applied to like Red Lyrium/Blue Lyrium or the Blight or demonic possession in DA and could be great. Aspects of DA:O in hindsight seem like a poor mans version of the themes of Bloodborne. That darker side of DA definitely got lost in DA:I even though they worked so hard to set it up in DA:O (the taint, broodmothers, abominations, all those flesh sacks in the Broken Circle quest, blood magic). oh fuck this forum.. I wrote a pretty long post but then it got fucked because this shitty forum thinks marking A WORD and moving it means its DATA i want to drop somewhere and because it isn't then the browser takes the dragged word as a fucking google search command.. I want to break something, I hate it when I waste 2 fucking hours of my time and a useless shitfunktion fucks me over. What use has a autosave function when it does not remember the fucking text after the tab was closed accidentally.. -.- fuck my life. td:dr: well the topics are super typical topic for horror literature playing with taboo, fear of human sexuality(especially female sexuality and reproduction as well as all non heteronormative shit) Fear of sex, fear of birth, birth as a demonic possession, a parasitic infection, the beast signifying loss of self control and animalism while kin are those who transcend more animalistic humanity but debase themselves in the process. true transformation can only occur with knowledge but still the church still tries to use the human body to overcome its perceived limitation. There is also pretty explicit criticisms of class and religion, aristocracy throning above all, the vileblood castle thrones above the lake, protected but also contained (as water does, see also byrgenwerth) and the church thrones above whole yharnam, never much out of view but still hiding its murderous secrets. also a lot about lying, hidden knowledge etc cant be arsed to write another two hours. >:[ I am full of anger

As a somewhat casual player, it isn't to hard honestly, I mean it's just a bunch of creatures screeching and flailing about. I don't think the issue with the Soulsborne games is how difficult they are but the type of player the person is. I never made it past the first boss in Bloodborne, not because I'm a casual scrub, I've played hard games before but because I don't like feeling like I've no idea what I'm supposed to be doing or where I'm supposed to be going and in Bloodborne I'm too busy fighting enemies to work out the route I need to take. I end up in dead ends or wondering if this really tough enemy is there too tell me this is the wrong way to go or if they are just a tough enemy. I have both the frustration of dying, mixed with the frustration of not knowing where I am going and knowing I'm going to die a bunch more times before I work it out. A map is probably all that stands between me and enjoying Bloodborne. you wanna play together? We can coop and I can show you around and hang a bit back in fights and give you tips if you like? Well there is this one dead end directly next to the exist of the first building you wake up in. Thats the only one. But the rest usually have interesting stuff to find.. But Tbh I play with guide, there are very few games I want to play fully blind, because bloodborne for me is more about the world and getting into the flow of things than to find some spaces myself. For me its still different between looking up a map and actually playing the game. If you like I can give you the maps tho :3

playing team fortress 2 mostly warframe is another game I'd recommand - free and pretty deep, although fairly intimidating at first (this is not an innuendo)

I am level 31 now on Horizon Zero Dawn. I have most of the purple weapons that seem to be the best stuff. I have no clue how much of the game is left though, but I finally climbed the last Girafee last night. So the map looks really complicated now. So many land marks! Most of them are just beasts mind you, but yeah. I also have completed 2 of the couldruns (or whatever they are called). I keep reading that they are super hard, but they haven't been. the puzzle bits were confusing at times. Like I didn't think to scan the yellow platform bits in the second one. so I didn't know you chould change the directions the platforms moved-so I spent an embarrasing amount of time trying to figure out what to do in one room.

No one can properly describe it, and I don't find the armors sexy like the rest do...so I am just not all that into downloading the game at this point.

I go sabbatical for 4 weeks on Monday so I'm hoping that will let me catch up a bit. Chilling with Video games, going on day trips with my puppy & up with friends I haven't seen in ages are the only things on my list when I'm off. I might hit you up for advice once I´ve finished a few games on my list and circle back around to it, if that is ok.

No problemo Soulsgames are great for jolly cooperation and if we use a password I could be a bit in a higher level and part of the league.. Just know that if we coop we are at a higher risk of invasion until we kill the bell-lady.

Assassin's creed chronicles. Started from Russia then will play India and China. I thought it would be average or even boring, but now I like this game more than other AC games. It has dystopian theme and exciting plot. Personally I found gameplay on normal harder than Uncharted 2/3 on brutal and Mass Effect 3/2 on nightmare. lol stealth is hard especially if you are going for trophies like complete game on hard in full stealth. It`s 2D pov. I think gameplay is like in Prince of Persia from 1989? Never played that game. I played This war of mine and AC chronicles looks similar to it and Beyond good and evil in stealth part. Waiting for Ancient Egypt now. Starry sky from promo pictures looks fantastic.

Sorry about losing all that. I agree the themes in Blooborne are very interesting. I wasn't even going to play the game but someone recommended me it for it's psychological/body horror themes. It was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone who likes that kind of stuff, and is not turned off by the soulsborne git gud mentality (which I was intimidated by, but mostly I just infuriated all my git gud friends by doing all the wrong things but still beating the game just fine). And I chuckled at the body horror not because I did not find it interesting, I did/do, but me personally I find it hysterical how some fear/repression/shame of the human body gets ever so dramatized. I find it funny because I see the real world truth in it, and the fragile minds of humans, fearful/ashamed of their own mundane bodily functions, is pretty much pure comedy to me. And now I wish your two hours of work hadn't gotten eaten up by the abyss, because what you did write was interesting, but I completely understand not wanting to write all that again!

d it hysterical how some fear/repression/shame of the human body gets ever so dramatized. yeah, something of the two hprus I wrote was y amusement that in the Us you get applicators for tampons so that no hand has to ever touch the vagina and come in contact with the horrible blood as if that was some sort of dirt that is inherently bad and no washing will make it go away.. we dont have applicators wo wipe our asses after a shit, but to insert a tampon? Most people dont even know what a menstruation cup is? I feel that says a lot. Lik I get when people don't like t tich certain body parts if that's connected to dysphoria, but I think its weird that this is so damn taboo that even talking about menstruation or saying the word makes people wince
