In case anyone was wondering whether or not Shadow of the Tomb Raider rules my world: Llamas and photo mode aside, parts of this game have been legitimately terrifying and I AM LOVING IT Don't forget they love patting  I beat the game today, I'm doing last touches to it so I can have 100% progress of it (all tombs, crypts, murals, relics, maps etc) before I start New Game Plus. |

It's soooo good and yeah, so gorgeous! The water effects, all the scenery, just everything. The new stealth mechanics are so satisfying and fun. What a game. But I still find it so weird that Lara calls Jonah her best friend now and Sam is completely out of the picture. I know it's just the way it is, but it kinda feels like the devs didn't want two women in the main roles...and I think so many people picked up on the blatant gay subtext-that-might-as-well-have-been-text in the reboot that they got gun shy about the pairing. But it would have been great to watch their relationship develop regardless. Oh well I guess we'll always have 2013   Their relationship exists in the comics, which I haven't read but am aware of.
TR re-boot and The Last of Us, I remember the class of 2013 fondly.  Does it really? Last time I remember was Lara pretty much saying bye to Sam without even seeing her (after she freed her from Himiko) bc "it's to dangerous to be Lara's friend" or sth like that. And that's it. Rhianna isn't the author anymore so the story sucks IMO. And when it comes to games, storywise the best is TR2013. ROTTR is the weakest IMO. |

Shadow is great. It's not as great as TR2013 when it comes to the story but it's good and the rest of the game makes it my number 1 in the series anyway (skill tree, mechanics, side missions, tombs etc). I just got 100% so I'm ready to start New Game Plus. I'll end this game before Assassin's Creed Odyssey comes out and then I'll just need to wait for additional tombs and challenges from Season Pass  ROTTR has better ending though. Shadow's ending is... hmm... not what I expected from trilogy that tells a story of how Lara becomes a Tomb Raider. But final boss is more difficult than in ROTTR. I think I fell from the edge of that platform at least 10 times and the boss killed me probably another 10 times, lol  |

I haven't finished Shadow but personally its a matter of taste really. I didn't really like that much TR2013 story wise. It wasn't a story about adventure and discovery, it was just a survivor horror type of story where you meet and lose a lot of characters along the way and everything was so dark and violent. I couldn't really stop and check out the wonders of this culture when I just felt horrified and scared of all my surroundings. Rise made it actually feel like a Tomb Raider adventure while still being a reboot thing. Only problem with Rise is that the plot ultimately ends and feels very similar to all other stories about tomb like adventures. Shadow I think starts off with a promising start, but the in depth details of the plot seem confusing at the moment. But for once I feel this is really a character journey for Lara, where as the other two games she was just reacting and following something someone else found. This time she is the one going all in on this and thats pushing her to character over the edge in some areas and I'm curious to see how far she is wiling to go at this point.

The Marching Fire expansion can't come fast enough. they showed off new armor looks for 8 of the old characters (Lawbringer, and Nobushi looked the best). |

I'm almost done with yet another run of Andromeda. (I have a problem, but it's okay I like it)
After that I am tempted to see just how far I could make it through a trilogy run of Mass effect before AC:O hits next week...but I don't know if I really want to do that or not.

Was trying to do a Fallout New Vegas run with mods but I couldn't seem to avicate in game. I'll have to very carefully tinker with that tomorrow.

Playing the SC VI network test.
Had a bit of trouble at first since I didn't remember how it controlled, and there isn't a movelist/training mode in the game. But, I've kinda gotten back into playing as Taki. Might try some other characters today and tomorrow, and maybe post the videos here once it's over.
The online play is good, although it takes a bit to find an opponent (and when I lowered the connection to being 3+ bars, it gave me a 1 bar person to play against). I am very much looking forward to getting SC VI now.

This is gonna sound stupid but I am so emamored with Niner and it's so saddening to me that his mod is left unfinished so I can't actually romance him. Him and my Courier would have been such a beautifuly messed up match.
I would seriously fund the mods creator to finish Niner. No joke dead serious, I love Niner that much.

I loved Niner and was so excited when they said they were going to try and add romance. The fact it never happened and the mod never continued made me sad. I still go back every now and then several years later to check if there's anything new but at this point I think this is all we're getting. Still though, he's a great companion and I'm still sad we don't get more, well created male companion mods. Niner perfectly fit one of my Courier's so it was nice to run around with him. I've not seen the modder even post in the thread for a while so I'm going to assume he's just abandoned for now. A shame, but whenever I feel like playing New Vegas I always feel like picking him up. I had a stupid amount of fun on the one playthrough I did using him so far. I never used new companions in 3, but in 4 especially, I've played it so much that sometimes I feel like using someone new, though they're generally a blank state because no one usually puts effort into making male companions unlike the female ones. |
