Right at this moment, watching "The Amazing Spider-Man". I seem to recall liking this when it came out but in retrospect it was very lacking. If the three iterations of Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland), this is probably the worst of them. Garfield looks to old. Gwen Stacy looks too old. Peter Parker is "too cool". Just not doing it for me.

I might give some of the others another chance someday, but eh...

I love documentaries! This one was pretty interesting and narrated by Stockard Channing! It was interesting to get a glimpse into the LGBT community in the roaring 20s, and how instead of being more progressive we fell into more conservative times.

Anyone else watching spoops for October? What are you watching? We watched American Horror Story: Cult and have been marathoning Buffy and The Twilight Zone. Will probably watch actually spoopy stuff closer to Halloween. lol

Oh look, my Amazon Prime subscription is suddenly justified. Is this based on the Terry Prachett/Neil Gaiman book? I loved it and will almost certainly have to watch this.

The Haunting of Hill House (these types of shows seem to be making a comeback, like Castle Rock)

I just finished the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I don't know how I feel about it. It had moments where it was brilliant, but the amount of religious/dark story elements were pretty taxing to deal with. (I spoilered the rest of my thoughts even though I avoided any specific spoilers-but for space and yeah almost spoiler thoughts) I really missed the more light-hearted moments of the original show. I get that isn't what they were going for, but they totally had moments like that-but sadly they were mostly rare gems buried under so much religious claptrap and dark darkity dark for the sake of being edgy. It was occasionally genuinely scary, but at the end of the day almost no one dies (which is good) so it isn't so much scary but just exhausting.
To be fair my own religious views factor into this show generally just making me uncomfortable. I actually cringe everytime someone says "hail Sa..." It's like I feel like I need to pray and never watch the show again...yet I watched it all. ugh.

Started watching the Haunting of Hill House, I seriously love this series so far, I'm on the 5th episode. I'll have to try and pace myself with it tho, I'm burning through the episodes too fast, it's so bloody tense and addictive. Everyone is so broken, it's uplifting.

I think I prefer it over Riverdale, honestly...but that may be because I've always preferred Sabrina over Archie. I was hoping they'd include her in Riverdale so I was pretty excited when I heard she was getting her own show! I'll definitely always prefer the original 90s sitcom though, but I love this one for what it is. It made me get back into Riverdale, which I am currently binging to catch up with the third season. I saw the entire first season as it aired but got too busy to watch the second.
I wasn't a fan of this version of Zelda, but loved Hilda! It also feels good to see LGBT representation in both shows, although it isn't perfect.

I enjoyed Sabrina, though I don't enjoy the whole "Witches are the brides of Satan" thing they went all out with. I imagine that's just how it is in the comic books though? Never read them myself. Still was pretty fun. But really I wanted more Goblin Salem... or more Salem in general. Goblin Salem is so bashful though, it was adorable!
Also Hilda is absolutely wonderful!

I gave in and I'm watching episode one of Sabrina right now. I thought I remembered this being an offshoot of Riverdale? It would be consistent with the old comics.

There's even a cameo appearance (I didn't know the guy personally since I don't watch riverdale though). However, since they are on different networks I guess they won't do a lot of big crossovers-just small guest pop-ins.

I also don't watch Riverdale, though "Archie" is a hell of a big draw. I forget where I'd seen it but read somewhere that they were connected. For some reason I thought the commercial I'd seen showed a dark haired, mean kind of Sabrina. This one is sweet but she's not exactly nice when people get in her way.

Yeah, she's a fairly well-rounded character I suppose. She's not all one thing at least. I like her mostly, but yeah...still not crazy about where they left here at the end of the season. We shall see!

I'll have to look into the new Sabrina show on Netflix, reading the thoughts here has me curious. Also it's true and it looks so bad.

Watching the second "V" show from a few years back. Just about done. Sad there was no second season.
