I thought as much, American Gods to me seems to be more about Moon journey(and some NewvsOld gods wars on the side) or at least that is what it look like from the episodies. Also Gillian Anderson is in there too.  Humm so Sandman first? I knew he had done comics but I really never touched anything. Whatever order you like. Most of Gaiman's stories aren't really connected to each other; when he finally finishes the sequel to American Gods, that'll be the exception (even Anansi Boys isn't really connected), but it's not like you need to read the one to figure out the other. The Sandman is huge and influential and amazing, but it's also a lot to roll through. American Gods is something you can kill in a weekend. If you're watching the show, I'm not sure whether you want to read it just yet or not (since there is a massive spoiler that they deliberately avoided in the show so far), but you probably should at some point. And, of course, he's written loads of other great stuff, like Good Omens (with the late Terry Pratchett), The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Stardust (excellent book, badly underrated film), Anansi Boys, Neverwhere (no matter what Panda says)...he's got that new collection of Norse Mythology out, too. Anyway. I'm shitting up the thread with non-TV stuff. Sorry. Don't forget Coraline! The Other Mother... @__@ |

I want to watch 13 Reasons Why on Netflix when I have a chance. The last thing I watched on there was The Crown. I just finished watching 13 reasons why and WHEW THAT SHIT IS INTENSE. Good, and important, but really difficult to watch in places. Like.... Really difficult. |

Really difficult. ok i admit i found it pretty boring first 5? eps...it seemed like your typical teenage drama with white girl/white boy...it got much interesting after, so im glad i didnt drop it, though im still salty about that asian gay girl storyline urgh, i hated her so much, gay guy was a good one, but he and his bf were barely even there. nevertheless, im still looking forward for 2nd season and hoping for more and better lgbt rep, since its gonna be an original plot then. and yea, that last scene of suicide in the finale...damn so graphic |

I was going to start binge watching Supernatural because they announced a Scooby-Doo crossover that I must watch...but then my Hulu account decided to renew itself without my permission.
So...it's back to Buffy The Vampire Slayer! I don't mind, the show has been amazing so far! It's strange seeing David Boreanaz in a different role though after falling in love with him as Booth on Bones for so many years.

Not sure if this thread is appropriate for it or not, but I just wanted to come here and mention how pleasantly surprised I was when I went to see Alien Covenant today and saw that, among the ship's crew which consisted of married couples, there was a gay couple. It wasn't clear at first that they were a couple. In fact, I was trying to keep track of the characters and I was like, "I think there aren't enough women. Is there a gay couple?" But it wasn't clear who they were. They really only acknowledged it once or twice (just like the other couples, to be honest) and I think it was pretty well done. Here are those guys. I was like, "Oh man, please let that bearded guy be one of the homos...." And he was!  Also (minor spoiler from that movie that doesn't relate to the gay couple but does relate to Michael Fassbender):
There's a scene where two androids (both played by Fassbender) interact with each other. One teaches the other to play the flute and says stuff like, "Just put it in your mouth and blow" and "I'll do the fingering". Then they kiss. I about died. It was literally the first thing my husband and I talked about when we walked out of the theater. Like, 'Holy fuck with Fassbender kissing himself!"

I'm assuming that he's kissing a stand in who has his face digitally replaced with Fassbender's in post production. It wasn't a passionate, tongue kiss or anything (really, it's one of them kissing the other one who doesn't really react that much), so it seems pretty easy to do with current technology. It looked good, though. I mean, how could two Fassbenders kissing each other be bad, right?

I watched that the other night, and I was excited that they showed Michael Fassbender kissing himself. |

Finished off season 2 of Supergirl last night and season 12 of Criminal Minds.
Left my thoughts about Supergirl in the Arrowverse thread so I'll focus on Criminal Minds.
I am so glad the whole 'Reid in prison' storyline is over, it was getting tedious and I was annoyed by the bait and switch of the last episode. Emily is what kept me watching this season but if it doesn't pick up in season 13, not even her awesomeness will keep me watching.

I stopped watching Doctor Who after Matt Smith's 11th Doctor regenerated into Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor for... well, irrational, emotional reasons. Since I was officially 2.5 seasons behind, I took it upon myself to finally dive back into it. I am only about six episodes behind now, and I can definitely see that my bitterness towards the 12th Doctor influenced me far too much. However, I am glad I am getting caught up because I did miss Doctor Who quite a bit.

I just started Anne with an E (Netflix series); it's a retelling of Anne of Green Gables, which I've never read, but I did watch the series when I was a kid.
I thought it would be saccharine and lame, but it's actually delightful, feminist, heart-wrenching, and so on... I'm not a good reviewer I guess xD But I'm really loving it.
