I'm playing the FO4 free trial thing... I don't know if I'm just not in the right mental state for a new game, or if it's the game itself. I'm really not getting into it at all. About the only thing I appreciate at the moment is the overall design of the world and attention to detail -- the game looks great -- with the 60s aesthetic still present in the world. Similarly, that is one of the things I also like about the Bioshock series. But there is only so much of destroyed, dirty architecture I can take. I'm really disliking the combat and having to use VATS. I realize that I don't have to use VATS, but it does make things easier. One thing that I appreciated about MEA was that I didn't have to continually find ammo, since those refill boxes are pretty much everywhere. FO4 is more realistic in that you have to find or craft your ammo in the world, but it doesn't make for fun gameplay for me. I'm also not digging the main plot. I know that, being a Bethesda game, I can just ignore it, but it's still there. Even if I use an alternate start mod, that is still the plot of the game, and the dialogue prompts are still going to be there as well. The main thing I like about the way that DAI's Inquisitor was done is that they are pretty much a blank slate character, aside from a minor blurb of an origin. I was never that into DAO's origins, or DA2's family, and I dislike being presented with people the game expects you to care about. I've only recently met Danse when I decided to turn it off for the time being. I have about six hours left on the trial and I'm just... "Ehhh" about loading it up again. I'm kinda sad, really. Fallout is a popular series and I wanted to like it. Since I've put hundreds of hours into Skyrim, I was expecting the same for this game.

Nightscrawl, that's unfortunate but I hear ya, I'm not quite sold on the combat myself either, I mean I wasted so much ammo just trying to kill bugs lol.
I started my game today, I have to say story wise I'm very intrigued. It's been a while a game's story grabs me from the start in quite a ride of events. Also they had to put me a darn dog that is too cute to resist lol. Like I don't even want him to follow me just to keep him safe lol. Didn't really do much beyond meetig my first civilians though. The character creation is quite nice, but I was disappointed how quick I met someone that resembles a lot my character lol. Oh and I decided to do a non mod run so I can get trophies, plus wanting to see the official vision of the game and all that. The only thing I'm not feeling is the combat and the violence it involves. There's sometimes a lot of blood and gore when I just simply did the one punch lol, like ok? That said overall, Im surpirisingly quite engaged on the game so far.

I'm on PC, though, so I don't know if that's different for PS/Xb mods. And yeah, the dog is pretty great. * I really, really can't stand the paraphrase system in any game.

I'm just so thankful there's an alternate start mod (although the console version has been deleted). The way they shoehorn you in to that family (with no option for a same-sex spouse at least?) was a REALLY bad choice. Adding to that the fact that it's the first voiced protagonist and FO4 feels like the least roleplay-y RPG ever. My first playthrough was vanilla and as a huge fan of FO3 and NV I was disappointed. But I'm really enjoying my current run...not only because of the mods, but I think because I know the limitations of the core game.

But I'm really enjoying my current run...not only because of the mods, but I think because I know the limitations of the core game. I had the gay family mod (but it has been deleted, thankfully I had it downloaded) the dialog changes to represent that your spouse was the same gender as you. But yeah, the story is bad, it's really bad. It doesn't help when it comes to Roleplay. There's a reason why people are still playing games like Skyrim, FO3/NV Oblivion and Morrowind to this day, and that's because you can basically be who ever you want to be. In FO4, unless you have mods you're always Nate/Nora. You can't be a rugged BOS Paladin, a lonesome Sniper, a wandering Ghoul. Which killed any reason to play it again. But my choice of husbands is pretty great, I like all of them except for McCready. But Gage will forever me one one true trash husband, followed by Preston of course. Other minor frustrations. -Nick isn't romancable, there's a mod, but not for the Ps4 x-x. -Hancock is the only romancable ghoul, okay it's pretty cute, but I would rather not date a druggy. I'm a Ghoul fucker at heart and this pained me. -No romancable Super Mutant. Maybe getting plowed by that Super Mutant in Fallout 2 spoiled me, but Erickson in Far Harbor would have made perfect husband material. Anyway, here's my Sole Survivor. And his Husband, The mod still had Nora walking around, but the dialog changed it so she was a family friend.

I found myself listening to "End Of The World" by Skeeter Davis and it made me feel a bit nostalgic for Fallout 4. (I normally associate the song itself more with Dragon Age Origins though.) So...I decided to load up my last saved game if only to listen to the radio for a bit. I haven't played Fallout 4 since January, and that was back when I was working on my Fallout OC. I wrote and planned several chapters of his journey, learned how to use the flycam and other mods just so Incould get some nice screenshots of him with his NPC husband now as a follower. I kind of miss it...I left the game and my character unfinished after having a negative experience with the fandom. Some screenshots of the happy couple I took...

It also adds some new songs to the radio by the very talented Lynda Carter when you meet her character. Listen to "Military Frequency AF95" to meet another potential husband.

I indeed did listen to that Frequency and met my husband... brother from the Brotherhood. I also wished there was a possibility to romance Sturges because I love badass mechanics/handymen.

Oh goodness, yes! You wouldn't be able to pull me away from him if he had been an option! I would've totally considered him over Danny when creating my OC/story if I had remembered!

I'm kinda undecided about buying the game for PC just to do this mod or for PS4. I prefer to play on console because it's more comfortable for me. I just bought The Technomancer so I have no hurries to buy the game (and their expensive dlcs), and I have a lot romances that I want to do in ME and DA, so I'll patiently wait for your reviews about this mod. I hope they correct all bugs without breaking the immersion when I decide what version to buy. The forced straight marriage with a kid is annoying and Bethesda didnt give a shit about homosexual players but I can roleplay a bisexual PC without problem since there're female characters to romance (not like Dream Daddy ) I cant wait to meet Hancock and romance the shit out of him

There are already some kinky mods for FO4 on PC, so you will miss that on PS4, and Sony does not even allow mods with custom voices, scripts etc. And yeah, romancing HanCOCK ( ) was my favourite thing in FO4 I also romanced Danse (and MacCready, Gage and even Preston), and installed ''The Danse Dilemma'' mod that restored cut content like Danse being the Elder and player being the leader of BoS

Crazy. Don't know what they were thinking, especially when I remember that Todd Howard said back in May 2015 that the game is mostly done, and they just are fixing bugs and polishing it, how that turned we all know after about 10 official and 30 unoffcial patches Also some modders says that there is much more cut content, but not all is voiced, so they have trouble to restore it. One of the cut content (ending) was making peace with all factions including Institute if you are the leader of them.. They also did cut Nick Valentine romance for both genders
