Ok alistair experts, when do I get the first flirt line for Alistair? I just arrived at Redcliffe and he confessed to me about his royal blood. And did up to convicing the drunk smith to actually help out. Should I have gotten a line by now or not yet? When I talk to him normally i just get to ask about grey wardens or teach templar stuff, which I already done.

There actually is a romance specific line there when you first get to Redcliffe, although it is a bit tricky to get. I had to reload a couple of times and try a few different lines/combos/approval ratings to actually trigger it...so I'm not sure what the exact requirements are. I had no problem getting it naturally the first time I played, but it was just so tricky this last time.  It changes his approval to "interested" so you know the romance is active, but there should be other opportunities to activate the romance/flirt later! I'm going to assume it has something to do with his approval though. Where are you at with him?

It's so sweet and I love all the little enhancement mods out there that really add to the Origins experience. The Alistair romance is perfect.  That's the natural bodies mod being used, I have that as well.  |

It's so sweet and I love all the little enhancement mods out there that really add to the Origins experience. The Alistair romance is perfect. That's the natural bodies mod being used, I have that as well. Nice! It really makes me want to play DAO though I'm currently on DAI. I love me some furry chests! |

I have the Eavesdropping mod installed and the one with a squirrel, but if she added gay versions of the others I'd love to install them.

I'm glad we at least have something though. The eavesdropping one is really nice. I am planning on Ser Gilmore being my main romance, but I have already started the Alistair romance on the side until I break it off later! I missed this game so much. Haven't played in nearly four years. Feels good to play it again when I've been so stressed out these days. |

After so many technical issues I am finally playing through a modded DAO for the first time, and Alistair OMG. These mods I put in, it really works perfectly, like the game was always meant to be this way. His dialogue is super cute, and I relate to Alistair's character so much too, this is legit the perfect romance UGH lol.  |

The romance really does flow naturally with a male warden, especially the human noble! It definitely feels REAL, like that's how it was always supposed to be. I still remember David Gaider saying that the only reason that he wasn't bisexual was because they only had the budget for one gay romance....and then also saying that it's possible he is bisexual (what a tease...) Typical BioWare...robbing us of a great romance...Alistair, Sebastian, and Cullen should have all been bisexual! Sebastian doesn't even make any sense because he's the only straight option and Cullen was only due to time... I've been playing on and off again since September but I have started the romance with Alistair. I'm pursuing Ser Gilmore as my main this time though, so I'll have to leave Alistair eventually. |

Ok I am really torn on this whole king or not king Alistair, specially since I am playing modded, Enora doesn't seem trustworthy enough but I don't want to force Alistair to do something he has no interest in doing so. But I also dread him coming back on inquisition and having to choose between him and Hawke lol. I am regretting romancing Alistair now cuz of all this consequences attached to him XD. Nah but I don't regret it, is being amazing. And Wynne being doubtful and later big supporter of the relationship, I love it. She's the mom of these gay lovebirds now XD.

He gave me no choice  , he stopped me and went ahead and sacrificed himself. I knew in the end one of us had to go, only way for it to be canon, and the whole Morrigan plot honestly didn't make sense for either of them to take it but still it hurts, more so because there isn't a proper farewell to him after sadly. Sadness aside, I feel story wise it kinda really fits for Alistair to take the sacrifice. I did a lot of things for Alistair's heart, I made sure he wasn't forced to be king, I killed Loghain, I led the grey wardens because he refused to take on the lead, etc. So after all that, him stepping forward and being like NO, is my turn to do this, it was very sweet and a true knight in shining armor sacrificing himself for you. And Yes I totally chose to do this tragedy on christmas day I am crazy. |

That's a very beautiful way of looking at the romance, and sounds very fitting for your character's journey. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, it was very enjoyable to read. I wish BioWare would be able to replicate the magic they had with Alistair and Origins with a proper gay romance in DA4 but I know it's unlikely...but at least these mods are able to give us a nice experience in Origins. |
