My Sith Inquisitor got a break up letter after I’d finished Eternal Throne with him from Koth that shouldn’t have happened - it talked about “the things he’d done” changing things between them, when he’d done everything right by Koth and had gone light side. Basically, I wouldn’t be surprised if, unless your romance is named “Lana,” they don’t care about these “cosmetic” and “text” bugs... Yeah I've gotten that false break up letter on every Koth romance I've ever done because they never bothered to fix it. I almost had a heart attack the first time I got it because I was so worried. Considering they've still not fixed the text error Imperial's (and maybe Pub's idk) get if they side with the opposite faction on Iokath so Acina and Malcom both end up listed as dead, I'd be surprised if they fix this one. I just want to make sure my romance is still active regardless of the text before I take my Knight through whatever content comes next. :/ |

I still hold that most of the trouble with same-sex romances has more to do with LucasFilms than with Bioware.
Personally, none of the options really appeal to me (maybe if Theron were a Jedi). I actually like the idea that the Knight and the Consular have been having a secret affair since they were students.

I still hold that most of the trouble with same-sex romances has more to do with LucasFilms than with Bioware. Personally, none of the options really appeal to me (maybe if Theron were a Jedi). I actually like the idea that the Knight and the Consular have been having a secret affair since they were students. That was very likely true considering there's in game evidence that Quinn and Kaliyo should have been Bi during the class story. (And I will never forgive them for removing that option.) But after the class story stuff idk if it was down to Lucas Arts or Bioware for how the bi/gay romances that eventually came, proceeded. I mean, look at how they treated their first gay character, only available Impside and you can literally bury him in Lava. Majority of Imp players I've ever met would have no hesitation in killing him. Meanwhile the Pubside option is a Bi female who can't die. Every single male same sex romance option has had a kill option at this point. (Khem can die depending on choices earlier in game, and I fully expect shit to hit the fan with the Vitiate stuff and for Scourge to get a kill option when that story comes out. Whilst they're only flirts, you can also kill Jonas, and Malcom who also have flirts and can die, though the same goes for Acina so that's a bit more even.) Meanwhile, other than Lemda who was only a Pubside fling, the only female same sex, proper romance option is Lana who has questionable morality and doesn't exactly work with Light side characters, even if they have gutted her personality since Shadow of Revan to try and make her more palatable. |

Yeah, Lucasfilm was almost certainly the INITIAL problem - back in KOTOR, Juhani, the lesbian option, already secondary to the het romance with Carth, was nearly hacked out and only shoved back in in the last second. So there was obviously a thing from them.
BUT, as pointed out, that’s not the whole issue. Lord Cytharat is, to date, the only gay character in TOR who can be romanced, and he could be killed early on in the Makeb arc, which functionally removes him from the remainder of the game. This is equally true of all the bisexual male LIs, that they can be killed, which limits their future content - the game has to continue without them, after all, because now they’re optional. Lana, who has been forced into the “BioWare Standard Female Love Interest For Male PCs” mold, is protected at every turn. And, so far, she’s getting the lion’s share of subsequent plot involvement and romance content.
The game started with external pressure to keep same-sex romances out. Now that they’re there, however, there is still a mismatch in how the male same-sex romances are ALL now optional characters, rather than having an active plot shield, which limits their content in the game.

Yeah, like it's forever going to be questionable that the only same sex romance that can't die, is a white woman with questionable morality who just so happens to be Bioware's main waifu (considering she's the romance for their poster boy Knight who features in the trailers) who has plot armour compared to every other same sex option. We do have Kira as an option but she's only for Knights in Onslaught, Jaesa for Warrior's, and Anri's flirts and that's locked to Impside. If you happen to play a male character who is loyal to the Empire, the only same sex flirts you get during Ossus-Onslaught is with Malgus. (And apparently also Vowrawn? But only if he's not Emperor, from what I've read at least.) There's a few npc flirt options Impside but most of them can be killed during the story, and then there's a few flirts with Daeruun and Tau Pubside but they seem half-hearted compared to the amount of flirts you can get with Anri. Post Onslaught, you have Rivix who has questionable flirts at best, and a throw-away flirt with Vector that is Agent only, and Elara that is Trooper only. But the latter two don't go anywhere. The worst thing Bioware did was give companions a kill option because it means same sex options like Theron, Koth, and even Arcann (though Arcann being able to die is more understandable considering...) are now side-lined for the Lana show where your character gets to take lovely romantic, sunset walks with her, regardless of whether you're actually romancing her, and regardless of whether your character even likes her .  (She also takes center stage in areas that Theron should be dealing with (like contacting your SIS contact, especially... especially for Imp Saboteurs.) |

Been a while since I mostly talk this game on my twitter XD, but for those curious the new story that dropped today has nice romance content for arcann, theron, and a bit for lana too from what I tested so far. Very happy with the Theron stuff overall, its been great to see him active, they are really making sure he gets stuff despite “the kill” option so thats nice.

Nice to know, though, to be honest, I hit a wall while trying to get my Agent through KOTFE and just realized... I don't CARE about anything in these expansions, which, by extension, makes anything past them virtually impossible.
In function, I'm honestly at the point where for me, the game stops after Shadows of Revan. Sucks that I don't get the further development (and the actual romance stuff involving Theron), but... I just can't stand that entire stretch of story.

FFS. Warning for anyone who sided with the Republic as an Imperial on Iokath. If your character was made before Jedi Under Siege and got hit with the 'Jace is both dead and alive' on your contacts list when Jedi Under Siege came out, 6.2 has brought it back. All my Imperial's who got hit with it back then, once again have Jace dead and alive, and Theron acting like he's already lost one parent already when starting 6.2. My Imperial's I've made since that bug was first originally fixed, do not have the issue. It only seems to happen to my Imp's who had it when JUS came out. Now I have to stall them until it gets fixed again.  |

I appreciate the video - the others I've found are all with like Lana or Kira romances active, or have the female PC. Sure, I know that in function there's no difference, because they adamantly refuse to include any gendering to cut down on how many lines they're recording, but it still means something to have the actual gay content shown.
Ugh. Spare me heterosexual gaming YouTube... And, y'know, it's not really like I needed to qualify that as "heterosexual"...

I dabbled in SWTOR when it first came out, rolling a Sith Inquisitor, but quit fairly soon thereafter. Even though my time in the game was short, however, as certified monsterfucker trash, Khem Val really stood out to me as a companion...I always wanted him to utterly destroy my Inquisitor's backside.
AND NOW I FIND OUT THAT HE CAN!?
Urrgghhh...and here I thought that I was finally free of MMOs...

So 7.0 is trash. Bugged Impside (I had to exit to my Stronghold and re-enter an instance twice Impside to fix bugged content.) The final boss of the flashpoint is bugged to the point he one shots you. The conquest changes sucks, Galactic Seasons is a chore, gearing is a slog, and I miss my abilities.  Only thing that's nice right now are Tacticals still seem to be working at level 80 because I was definitely slam-spamming with Cut to Pieces on my Warrior. I did get Arn flirts so that at least made Pubside worth it. Vid of the 2nd flirt (game was laggy during the 1st so my recording is a hot mess) with him below. Others might enjoy it but I am just burned out and hate all the changes 7.0 has bought.  I might have given the grind a try had they given me Arn as a proper companion, but alas. |

Going through my hotbars and trying to tweak some for all the abilities I've lost. Some classes definitely feel like they got fucked more with abilities being removed altogether, or thrown into a 'select one out of three' choice.  |

I am still early on though, so there's still time for me to fall for Theron-even if just vicariously through these videos.  |

I am still early on though, so there's still time for me to fall for Theron-even if just vicariously through these videos. Hahaha nice, enjoy and thanks for watching! Yeah, unfortunately some chapters Theron doesn't get as much initially, but you see him more around the eternal throne one and the one that follows after, Fractured alliances. I'm only one story behind at the moment on those videos, but I'm waiting for one date night scene that's coming for him on next update hopefully. I also want to tackle some of the other gay romances when I can, like Arcann's and post it there too eventually! That channel is basically my channel atm for all the m/m romance content I experience haha. |

SWTOR has announced a new story element, Date Nights! These will be introduced in 7.4.1 coming this march but will add more dates on future galactic season updates. For this one they will be adding a date night for Theron Shan, Lana Beniko, Koth Vortana and Arcann. All of these 4 characters are bi options so that's great news, especially for Koth romancers who definitely gotten the least content!
I was also discussing on discord with other players and I believe these scenes are repeatable, but I'll have to watch the stream again to confirm that, but still a welcome addition and their plan is to do one for all romances. On the negative side, that's going to take a LONG while but will see! We are definitely getting at least two more this year. As I'm sure they will be another galactic season update this year. Here's the preview they shared:
I might potentially do some videos on these, and I want to do a montage of arcann's romance so I will definitely use this to include it.
