I saw some video claiming that... You need a big warrior to fight the Night King and it should be Jon because of all his history with the wall and the Night's Watch and such. They said that Arya didn't have sufficient motivation, and that her assassin skillset wasn't what you need in a pitched battle.
I was like... Her childhood home is under attack, all her remaining family are in mortal danger from the undead and that's not motivation enough? Family is pretty much all the motivation Arya has! Sure, an assassin isn't generally what you look for first in a pitched battle, but when the enemy army will cease to function when its leader dies, that skillset is exactly what you need!

Fun fact: Jon isn't that big. lol "big warrior" HHAHAHA. Translation: It should of been a man. Ugh, kind of sick of Jon at this point.

The more I think about it, the more it's classic RPG tactics: Get your warriors to draw aggro. Enemy boss thinks: "I'm not falling for that, I'll take out their bastard mage" and the rogue sneaks out of the shadows and crits them to death. Job done.

It would've been fucking stupid if it was Jon. I like him and he's a great fighter, but the night king is practically a demigod. He can reanimate the dead at will, he has a literal blizzard that just exists around him passively, he's so cold in temperature that dragonfire doesn't faze him, he's magical as fuck. If there is a mortal that can defeat him in direct combat (and I'm not convinced there is, sorry Jon), he wouldn't put himself in that potential danger unless it was necessary. You need to surprise crit these OP ice magic zombies if you want to actually win. And she did. lol
Also, literally anyone has enough motive to kill the night king. The motive is that if you don't everyone will die. lol
Also Jon is the series Mary Sue, not Arya or anyone else. lol Sorry Jon, but it's true.

Mostly caught up...very disappointed that: Bear Queen died. I thought Dany lost a second dragon during the Winterfell night battle, but it lived just to get killed by a stinky pirate And then Missandei is caught and executed...just burn king's landing, that way everyone there will be warm for the winter. Kinda lame that the Night King died this early, kinda wanted to see him and his buddies just steamroll the rest of Westeros

Does episode 5 count as torture porn? It feels like that was what they were going for.
I genuinely never thought it could be this bad.

So what happens if both Dany and Jon are killed off next episode? Cause the way this season is going I don't expect either of them to rule.
Does Tyrion rule? Because I can't see him garnering support from any of the nobility or common people at this point. Does he just go back to Casterly Rock and the survivors of Kings Landing just throw the Iron Throne into the ocean, and we're back to 7 separate kingdoms.
No matter what happens I don't see how they pull off "bittersweet". This is just overwhelmingly bitter.

There have been leaks out for a bit now, I'll post what the most reputable leaks (that have been right thus far) say should happen, just in case you (or anyone else who hasn't seen them yet) wants to know. SPOILERS UNDER SPOILERS Some say Bran will be king and others say there will be no ruler but ruled by a council of people. Tyrion will either end up executed for treason or on the council, no one is quite sure yet because it seems they may have filmed more than 1 ending.
Also other random spoilers, Jon will kill Dany in the throne room and apparently Drogon will destroy the iron throne before leaving with her body, so I'm leaning toward the council ruling things being correct, I guess, since that seems like it's setting up for it. lol

This has been the one of the worst writings I have ever seen on a tv show. This series is dead to me, Good job D&D 👏 Dany apparently goes mad because YOLO even though the war was over, yeah lol years of character development for nothing.
Jaime returned to his old Cersei ass licking self and his character development to the trash as well. Both Jaime and Cersei deaths were one of the lamest I have ever seen, the valonqar was a fucking BRICK!!!!!!!!!!!! sd`saifàdonvgodangs FUCK YOU D/D. Euron? What a joke of a character, his greatest achievement was fucked Cersei according to him lol
Where the fuck is Yara?
next episode is predictable that Arya is gonna kill Daenerys I'll probably not gonna return for the last episode, fuck them. What a fucking awful season. Meh. edit. just read the leaks accidentally on twitter, yep I'm definitely not gonna watch the last episode PATRIARCHY WINS! wow too much for a so called feminist show !!1!!

Technically Gendry would have a claim to the throne now he's legitimized but he wouldn't want it so i guess Tyrion, but they should just dismantle the throne and be done with it (and make some kind of electoral system like Tyrion hinted at )

A few years ago it was suggested to me that George RR Martin might not actually have a clue how to satisfactorily conclude A Song of Ice and Fire. Hmm...

Geez this season has been such a dumpster fire that even the return of Kit Harington's ass wouldn't be able to save it.

Me during this whole episode: Y'all, I excused the plot holes and little bits of "wtf" in every episode of S8 prior to this one because I still enjoyed them a lot. But now I'm just criiinging. I don't have a problem with Dany starting to lose it - Jorah, Missandei, Rheagal, Viserion, Barristan, etc. basically everyone she cared about is dead, Jon has a better claim to what she worked her ass off to get, he's rejected her as a lover and went behind her back and told the truth about his heritage, she is not in an okay state of mind - but it's ssooooooo RUSHED. Like if this had played out for two seasons, okay, but she just flash-fried a surrendering army and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENTS? What the actual fuck. Because...... they don't love her? I can't tell if this is character assassination or just terrible pacing. And Jaime..... man, just more character development down the drain. When he rode off from Winterfell I was 100% certain he was going to get close to Cersei in order to kill her. Instead he just really genuinely didn't want her to die alone. So uh. He's season one Jaime. I get subverting expectations (many people thought he or Arya would be the one to kill Cersei), but this just took his whole character arc and crapped on it. They didn't have Euron react to the reality that Cersei's "baby" isn't his, despite Tyrion loudly declaring that he knows she's preggers in the previous episode, with Euron standing right there, and if she were pregnant with Euron's kid there's no way Tyrion would have known about it..... Tyrion is just asking to be killed at this point. Like, he might as well be wearing a sign. Talking to Sansa, talking to Varys, FREEING JAIME, basically how is he still alive. I do not understand. Speaking of, I'm worried about Sansa. I'm sure she's not sitting on her hands in Winterfell.... she's knows Dany's going to be pissed, probably does NOT know the extent of what she did at King's Landing, and is probably readying for..... something. Idk. I love her and I want her to be okay and I'm inclined to think she is not safe anymore looool. I hope Tyrion takes her side because I liked their little moment in the crypts and if this is REALLY the direction they're taking Danaerys, I at least need some of my faves to come out of this alive. Alright, rant over, let's go back to The Adventures of Super Duper Hero Jon Snow.
