Obviously, you can be Gay in Jade Empire, if no one mentioned it. It's an old game but I love it (One of Bioware's best stories imo) I don't know about Sky's romance since I'm all about my waifu Silk Fox tbh. Sky's romance is one of my favorite ones! Him and my character ended up settling down and opening up a school in the epilogue.

Too add to my list! The Winter Wolf games! The ones that let you play as male allow for M\M options as well as F\F options. And even better they put a graph in the forums so people can see who can romance who. Oh Samuel my sweet husband. It's a shame though, finding games where the older men are romancable is downright impossible. But I'll make due I guess. Like this one: Another game I forgot! Avadon 2! If you pick a male character you start with a female companion and vice versa, but the developer added a code that can switch the companion, so you can get the male companion with a male character and female if you're a female character. Basically the games are created with very limited resources and it's all done by one guy, but he still decided to code in that code for us gay players.

Yup, and he's a robot. Course this game is a card game, but you can go into just visual novel mode. I'm sadden since it's a niche game company and people didn't like the art style of Planet Stronghold so the guy is going to revert to the "Manga" look, because people kept screaming to do it. *Sigh*

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura a really old game where you can romance a female bi elf, although there is some really complex combination of race of the PC, dialogue and decisions to get it. Expedition: Vikings, there are two romances, both bi, one a smartass archer the other a social awkward witch. SWTOR with Lana Beniko and Theron Shan but most people already know that here for sure. There is also Guild Wars 2 but it is the main cast of NPCs. Lesbians written by other lesbians is always cool. you mean raven, right? i thought she is only available to male elves? O.o

The pleasantest surprise for me was Dragon's Dogma. I don't think a whole lot of people know about this game, or they dismiss it as a lame Japanese RPG. Well it's an RPG and it's Japanese, but it's not lame!!! REASONS DRAGON'S DOGMA IS AMAZING: 1. Can play a bi/gay character; there are multiple romances of either gender and no gating. Make sure you play with Japanese voices (with English subs) instead of English voices because the Japanese ones are super sexy and the English ones are a fucking joke.2. Has the best CC ever?? Can play a hulking Amazonian woman or a tiny androgynous lad with lovely hair. Non-natural hair colors, body sliders, height sliders, nine different voices, though most kinda suck, but that's okay... your character never speaks. 3. The combat is fucking awesome. If you care about stuff like that... the combat is fucking awesome. That is all. 4. Nine classes, NINE! You like archery? You can be a strider, a ranger, or a magick archer! A sorcerer or a mage! You get the picture. 5. Insane headfuck storyline, just trust me on this one 6. Pawn system -- you create a pawn along with your main character; you can upload your pawn and s/he/they can go on adventures with other players! You and your friends can rent each other's pawns for free. DRAGON'S DOGMA IS AWESOME /o/ /o/ /o/ I love the gameplay.

in dark souls Solaire flirts with you no matter your gender which totally and definitely counts and is a great reason to buy and play dark souls (which is only kind of vaguely sarcastic)

The Borderlands series has a bunch of lgbt characters both major and minor, including a few of the playable characters. They're not exactly rpgs, and honestly a bit too shooty for my taste gameplay-wise, but I absolutely loved the characters and worldbuilding and stories (though not so much the first game tbh). The most recent installment is actually a Telltale choose your own adventure game instead of an fps looter if that's more your speed, and can still be enjoyed even if you don't know the rest of the series, which was really good and had one of the prior lgbt playable characters in a major role.

I did a quick playthrough and was sad at the lack of invasions or even summon signs :'^( I was thinking about it playing Dark Souls III since that game actually has a character that switches gender depending on the gender of your player character to keep things het, it's a... weird, design choice.

The gameplay is not the best, kinda gets a little clunky sometimes. Also I did heard about that in DS3, sad really, they feel the need to add that option to maximize het feels. At least the character is gender-fluid I guess. I take it.
