I finished Greedfall!


I almost skipped a few things until I read about the best ending, I had to be friendly status with every companion and every faction so that took me like two more days because I was ignoring the coin guard and bridge alliance all this time and Petrus. I just didn't really vibe with Petrus, he was sometimes supportive of Natives other times hated them. But it was good I progressed his quest to find out more about Desardet's backstory, has I had no idea that story was behind that companion. I liked a lot that your character and Vasco go through essentially a similar arc of finding your past family, so you sort of have that bond there. I still don't like Petrus much, his whole I loved with your mom just was creepier than a nice bit and I think the story would have been better if Petrus sacrificed himself in the end for Desardet to make up for his actions or something.

In the end I did get to understand and appreciate the work that went into writing each faction and the characters. Aside from Petrus, I think I liked all the other companions. Siora being my second favorite because you end up building a great friendship with her, and not once did I feel ninjamanced by her or any implication as such, always felt a great friendship and respect. As for Kurt, I admit that I lost interest in romancing Kurt, attraction aside, he didn't feel right for my character, Vasco felt just right. The only issue with Vasco is how early on you can do all his quests, he at least still participates in other quests with dialogue, not major ones but at least speaks. On a replay I will likely just stick with Vasco still as romance, maybe mess around his look though on PC if I do haha.


Has for the ending I liked it for the most part. I liked how all the companions and factions are incorporated, granted is not a triple A game so they didn't go as big as they could, but I appreciate the effort, nonetheless. I got scared there was no romance farewell though until it happens a few steps later thankfully, and that was a much better kiss then the messy bedroom scene. I really felt that moment between them, so I was very happy about that. The final boss was essentially me spamming my gun though cuz I was scared to melee him without companions XD.

I do have one major quest I didn't like and is when you get to choose who becomes High King. After making my Desardet be super respectful of what essentially are his people in a way, I'm suddenly forced to do disrespectful thing. I think it would have been better to promote among the natives that hey this person would be a good choice because of these reasons and that's it, not literally steal something and force a ruler. Also 3 choices but the game very much tells you Duncann is the only right choice.

And a minor thing I didn't like is Constantin fall to madness, I didn't really like the whole I became one with the nature like the natives and went mad. I think he had way more things in his backstory to make him go mad, like a situation with his parents/family that puts him in a lot of pressure and goes mad of power because of it. Otherwise, I felt it was an ehh reason, and I got really invested in the relationship between him and Desardet. Though the game later doesn't really give you much to even think about your cousin being able to be saved, I think a Saren ME1 type of choice here would have been interesting or at least make Desardet try to convince him first, just felt after a lot of development, the path to madness just felt rushed and there wasn't a proper farewell between them. Even a "I'm sorry cousin" from Constantin as he dies would have been nice.

But yeah, aside from that I did end up liking the game a lot! It was a nice fresh new rpg to play and gave me the main things I like from my rpgs and I really liked the protagonist, which is the most crucial for me to get invested.

PS: Technomancer is on sale on steam for 1.99 so I'm going to get that soon but probably won't play it right now XD.

Hopefully there's enough interesting things to learn from it, they will need to drop enough stuff because people will be playing Dragon Age close enough to that date in the fall.

the character screams forced straight man romance for me... hopefully they saw how great BG3 was and do like DA4 and they are all bi

I'm not over the moon for either guy at the moment. I hope they are both bi so I could double my odds of liking at least one of them. Right now I'm defaulting to the native guy since he's almost guaranteed to be bi since they did the whole natives make more sense bs with the first game.

I completely changed my mind about Ludwig, he looks super hot but I dont trust this company anymore so I will try to focuse in Davrin and Lucanis in the meantime lmao I dont want to get attached for a male companion for nothing... If they are all bi I will probably go the John Smith route LMAO but we dont know so I rather stay cautious, Nilan is handsome but I dont like his twink unbearded design I'm a shallow bitch u_u he being a "magical?" archer reminds me to the romance from Expeditions:Vikings, he was also a childhood friend of the protagonist and ranger.

edit. the fact they chose to showcase a female protagonist where Ludwig helps you just doesnt look good lol he has straight romance ""it makes sense TM"" written in his face lol

edit. Someone in the discord group said that Fausta is theleme (It makes sense since shes doing light magic) and Ludwig probably a coin guard, will they make again the coin guard a hetero?  

I think I read there will be 7 companions so maybe these are six of them?? They were showed when they were talking about the companions (see the last part of the video edit. or here min 2:00) 

Someone in the discord said to me this about the bearded dude "I think the fellow with the beard and broadsword may be a Bridger -- his armour looks faintly Ottoman, which is who the Bridge is based upon"

so every faction would be represented and maybe one extra new faction for that seventh companion?




edit. the seventh companion is Sheda, she is another native "Accompagné de vos deux compagnons, Nilan et Shéda", it seems she is one of the gameplay videos but i cannot find it. edit. here, is the blonde native next to Nilan

So is anyone planning to play the EA version of this game?
