So is anyone planning to play the EA version of this game? I dont think so but I will be supporting if they are all bi Sounds like a good plan to me. I am doubtful that I'll buy it unless it's more inclusive than the first game. There's not anyone as attractive in this game as Vasco to push me over the edge. -shrug-

I'll probably get it to support the game because I really loved GF1 a lot, but I'm not dying to put a ton of time into it with Dragon Age around the corner.

Looks like the uncertain Sybille is confirmed. So far they've shown off voice actor vids of three female, and one male companion (off to a good and totally not biased toward straight male romances, start, then.)
I'm going to guess they will pull another G1 and just not tell us about romances to not 'spoil it' and then we find out it's as uneven as before and they didn't learn anything from the first time around. (Yes I'm being pessimistic.)
Just over a week before EA, hopefully we will get more of these VA snippets before then.

I expect to get it EVENTUALLY, but yeah... Veilguard is my first priority, and with my finances being what they are, I'll be lucky if I can get to it in 2025 at all.
It's a big time for new games, and an empty time for my bank account before I even start looking at this stuff. I can't even consider BREATHING financially until November at the earliest right now.

I wonder how that can even work. I assume the game would 'end' before the end of the first game then because how would it deal with your decision choice? I have to assume it takes place in a very different location to the first game because I don't know how that could work otherwise. Hopefully despite the timelines essentially merging, the prequel won't have anything from the first game pop up. I don't want them canonizing any decisions for us.
(Still a weird decision, how does something take place 3 years prior and then happen simultaneously. Do we get a time skip? Is our character imprisoned for that long before we get free? Curious.)

Maybe we'll get to set a worldstate of sorts at the start of the game? That'd be cool.

As far I know, the game takes place only in Teer Fradee in the beginning, so I'm guessing if it is true that GF1 and GF2 happens simultaneously, our decisions in GF1 wont matter cause they are actually happening at present time. I'm curious to see Gacane or the Old Continent whatever they call it. more about companions store.steampowered.com/news/app/1997660/view/7374170303772930512Nilan Childhood friend to Vriden gerr, Nilan is a young native who has a deep connection to both nature and the land. Coupled with a strong desire to protect his people, he’s somewhat stubborn and awkward. Fausta Originating from a noble family in Thélème, Fausta plays a character and switches personalities depending on her audience. Well-versed in diplomacy, she’s discreet and is reserved and solitary in her personal life. Sybille Born into the de Vespe household, she was introduced to the art of politics and family conspiracies when young. Though distrustful at first, once her trust has been gained, she’s willing to make any sacrifice for her loved ones. Alvida A talented Naut, Alvida has little tolerance for authority, but nevertheless follows Naut traditions which she inherited from her mother. Defiant, strong, and driven, she follows her ideals with a will of steel. Ludwig A former soldier, Ludwig is a man who doesn’t believe in heroes and refuses to be portrayed as one. He’s sarcastic, detests feigned politeness, and is aggressive towards those he deems responsible for the suffering of the poor.

I dont know whats happening but I personally keep winning when it comes options with gaymes lately, ignoring Rogue Trader fiasco lol, I thirst'd for Barrett years before and then he was not only bi but had a husband as well, Wyll, Ludwig, Davrin, this streak of good luck has to end someday edit

Okay I saw Nick's other tweet before I saw this. Score one for us, Ludwig is bi! (Because I doubt they'd be brave enough to go one straight/one gay) though I wonder if that means the Native guy is gonna be straight. Oh well, Ludwig was more my type personality/background wise so I'm excited for that at least!

That is a nice welcomed surprise and definitely has my interest, I do wonder if they are going for all bi route given these news. After all, there really wasn't any big story reason for them to be a specific orientation last time, at least not that I as a casual player could catch XD. But I also hope the person managing the twitter isn't wrong, cuz many times bioware socials would say something and then it didn't happen lol.

Scottphoto I will bite you if you curse this for us. I'm hoping they follow the trend and go for all bi just so they don't have to deal with us bitching at them like last time.

6 companions at launch + 2 more with updates, 8 companions is a good number, I wonder how many will be romances though, they said there will be more than in GF1 so maybe all of them?

8 is a lot so I'd be very surprised if all 8 were romances. (I'd be happy if they were though as it means the chance of the game having more than one m/m option would be slightly higher, but I'm doubting it.) They may do what they did with the prior game and have at least one as a non romance. At launch seems to only have the basics of the opening location so I'm wondering if there will be any romantic content/flirts that early (then again, you could get immediately no homo'd by Kurt as soon as you got into the city which didn't take long, so who knows.) I am wondering why they're adding two companions late into early access. Are they not ready for launch? Trying to keep them a surprise? Or just wanting to make you come back and replay for each 'update' by adding another one. Seems we get Ludwig at launch so that's good at least. Though if the silhouettes are of the companions to come it means we get another guy in the Winter update. I'm wondering if that grey haired guy with the scar in Nick's post is a companion as he does kinda fit the Winter silhouette. (Honestly that concept art of Ludwig fits it much better but we already know he's in early access.)
Edit: I'm wondering who the 6th launch companion is. The Steam page only mentions five: Ludwig, Nilan, Fausta, Sybille, and Alvida Unless by 6 they mean that other Native woman who you possibly have to choose between saving her and Nilan? But that's not really 6 if one might die.
