I've finally started my dorian romance play through!! fave dorian scenes everyone? I love the dance at the end of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts! I suppose everyone gets that though so I'll go for him critiquing the library after Here Lies the Abyss.

I've finally started my dorian romance play through!! fave dorian scenes everyone? I think my favorite is how he is introduced in the game, because he is legitimately the first character in the game that made me go "dang he is really cool". Romance wise, I think I like the first kiss the most, I like its all built up, and doesn't feel like a rushed kiss.

I really like Dorian's romance (main game only mind you) with a human warrior templar. (qunari works too, but qunari's clip in everything they were and I hate it). He says they smell sexy and it makes me have naughty thoughts.
I think if I romance Dorian again, I'm just going to end my run after killing Cory, and not touch Trepasser. Honestly I just don't like that dlc much.

I've finally started my dorian romance play through!! fave dorian scenes everyone? Uh... damn, this is difficult. I suppose I like the scenes where he is provoked into expressing his feelings, because it's difficult for him to do. I don't mind this, as my Inquisitor is pretty emotional and effusive. There are many of those, with perhaps the most extreme being the post-Adamant scene. I think my favorite line is during the party scene after Corypheus is defeated. If he's going to stay in the South "for now," he says, "There's no you in Tevinter. What else matters?" It's pretty damn melt-worthy. Also, if this is your first Dorian romance pt, do you want an explainer of the different paths you can take? I only ask because one of them is not obvious, and you'll miss it if you don't know about it in advance. I haven't had the desire to play Trespasser again, either. I found the whole thing to be depressing. I also didn't care for the more linear format, which I know was a boon for some people. I do need to one of these days because I want to see the various other dialogue options in Dorian's scenes, but I don't have much motivation to do so.

i think my favourite scenes are after his personal quest and after dealing with mother giselle clucking at him (combined). i always kiss him at this second stage (or rather, he kisses inky) and i love how hungry the whole thing feels.
we see him vulnerable and taking initiative on his feelings, love it!

oh, as far as trespasser goes, i always romance dorian with mage so i can see them together in tevinter no matter what dorian is blabbering.
i think the whole thing is okay but i hate they can't have more elaborate argument about it. also varric is annoying as hell in dorian's and cassandra's scene.

Oh yes. It's part of my headcanon that they resolved things after the post-Mythal conversation (I even wrote a whole fic about it). As the player, I'm satisfied with how it all goes. My Inquisitor gets it, even if he's not happy*. BUT what would piss him off is finding out in that way, and I do imagine he would have some words about it before the rest of the conversation starts. The only mitigating factor about that in the scene for me is that you can see Dorian's face change, so he knows he fucked up. * And now he has one arm, so it's even worse.

I wish I could draw my own ending slide and mod it in. I've seen some works on Tumblr that are pretty great, and close to the style used with the parchment and everything.
Although... it's probably a good thing I can't, since I'd waste away my life just drawing stuff -- cute stuff, sweet stuff, sexy stuff, on and on.

Dorian seems like the most likely past character from any game to appear in DA4, so what do you think his role will be? Do you think he'd be a returning companion, or a faction leader your can choose to help or side against? Do you think we'll be able to make him the Archon or something like that?

Do you think he'd be a returning companion, or a faction leader your can choose to help or side against? Do you think we'll be able to make him the Archon or something like that? It seems to me that they are purposely moving the game away from the South to cut off a lot of the cameos and such. DAI, as much as I liked it, was riddled with these, as well as crossover characters. It's time for something fresh. Considering that, I think that Dorian and Solas (in an unseen way for most of the game) are the only likely followers to make an appearance independent of player choice, and perhaps also Charter and/or Harding as Inquisition liaison. Perhaps Charter will be the main Inquisition contact, with Harding being a party member. I think it highly likely that Dorian will make an appearance, and perhaps Maevaris as well (I'm hoping). The knife being stabbed into the map of Tevinter at the end of Trespasser is highly suggestive. Given Tevinter's elven slave population (and how that ties into Solas's plans), and also how the Qunari are increasing their aggression, there is a LOT that can potentially be done. My current theory is that the game will be divided into two parts, dealing with the Qunari threat in the first half, and then with Solas in the second. Given his meddling with the Qunari in Trespasser, it may be that we have to deal with both simultaneously at some point as well. It could be a clusterfuck of epic proportions! As for Dorian's role, as much as I adore the character to little pieces, I'd prefer that he not be a follower again and perhaps be an advisor. I think it makes sense, as he is now a magister, with all the responsibilities that entails, including the addition of running the Lucerni with Maevaris. I don't see them doing a faction leader to side against. That only partly worked in DAI with the diverging red templar/venatori paths. As interesting as it was, I think that hurt the game because Corypheus got a lot more characterization and just "felt better" as the main villain if you chose to side with the templars over the mages. Besides, I don't think they will sideline one of their more popular characters for players who don't take that path. I prefer that we do NOT have the choice to make him archon. I don't want that much control over the world. I've never liked those sort of choices. Also, I actually kinda of like Archon Radonis (he has a bit in Magekiller) and would like to see him more fleshed out. I'd love to see him and Dorian interacting, given that Halward was a confidante of his until Dorian's indiscretions caused Radonis to drop him. BUT Halward's position couldn't have been that low, nor Dorian's, since he got the ambassador position in Trespasser. Ideally, for me, the game would have a sort of Neverwinter Nights-style path for the PC. In that game, we are the adventurer hero that is called upon to use their skill to help, while other leaders make the big choices. I would like to work for the Inquisition, and that's all, really. Smallish choices are fine, just not world-altering ones.

Yeah I agree that format worked really well in developing three non-companion characters. I'll be interested in seeing what kind of role he'd fill, I'm imagining something similar to Josephine but with Tevinter specifically.
