It's rather a bummer that gay players who really like Dorian, and his romance, don't talk about it very often. I know they exist. I can't really have much to say about it as a straight woman, so it's sad to see so many negative things, even if I intellectually understand the reasons for them. I enjoy many parts of him. The parts I don't like don't overrule the great parts, in my case. I wish I could be as confident and well-dressed as him. It is a dream to be a bad ass mage that knows what to wear.

I don't talk about Dorian a lot because it usually results in someone starting an argument. A lot of those people also tend to be obnoxious so it makes the discussion unpleasant. I'm happy that hes been so positively received by the vast majority of people though and expect that will reflect in his future appearances as well.

Dorian as a character is fine. It's his quest that makes people shitty. >__>

Sparkles for Sparkler. Lol, I was hoping you'd bedazzle his mustache after I bedazzled Anders's stubble. And you did

Sparkles for Sparkler. Lol, I was hoping you'd bedazzle his mustache after I bedazzled Anders's stubble. And you did I've been trying different images of him to get just the right bedazzled mustache. lol I also did one with just the magic ball thingie, though, because it looked neat. The one with the mustache is great, though, because it's like he's powering the spell with his mustache.

Sparkles for Sparkler. Wow, the ones on the lightning look great! Yeah, I've been bedazzling everything, but the ones specifically on that lightning ball were really pretty, so I also made one with just those. lol

The one with just the lightning bedazzled is super cool. But magical bedazzled mustaches are my favorite. Lol

Sometimes I forget how hot Dorian is. In my (totally unbiased, I swear ) opinion, Dorian has the handsomest face out of all Dragon Age's male companions.

Took a whack at the mustache. It's so sparkly. And agreed, Dorian is the hottest DA guy. lol Also, still best ass in a Bioware game.

(Definitely, best ass we've seen in game, because they didn't show more. He simply has no competitor. Oh, wait, we can see Cullen's ass too, for a moment.)

Well, even though he also shares the body model with Cullen and male human Inquisitor (they all literally have the same ass), the presentation shot of Dorian certainly gets points for style, with the light filtering through the windows, scattering off the dust motes. *_*

Dorian as a character is fine. It's his quest that makes people shitty. >__> weird, i find his quest not that problematic really, i think it is something that could happen in thedas/tevinter and it fits the character/setting. what i do have a problem with is his sass at the most inopportune times, i find that romance was a bit spoiled occasionally by his defence mechanisms. i would have loved to see more of a serious dorian without all the posturing otherwise i found him to be fully realized, complex character worth his companion status and exploration of what it means to be gay in tevinter didn't bother me one bit.

I wasn't too bothered by that because I saw it for what it was, a defense mechanism, as you said. To me it adds to the character, and the romance because I can see the seriousness underneath. I enjoy the process of getting him to open up. Dorian is a show, not tell, sort of character, and I can see that he cares. Even his final words in the Inquisitor's quarters show that words are less meaningful than actions. That's not to say that my Inquisitor doesn't get frustrated occasionally, he does, especially since he is very open and effusive, but he understands. As for his story, I think it's also worth noting that it is his experience as a gay altus. I doubt the rest of Tevinter society, or normal folk, care all that much.
