I hope they haven't forgotten about the console peeps. They havent. They gave an update a couple days ago saying console port is still being developed and itll be out towards the end of this year. It took awhile for them to port the first Pillars to console as well (the devs said they kinda didnt really want to do it but were forced to and had to build some stuff up from scratch to get it to work on console) I bet things for Deadfire got put on hold for a bit when they got acquired by Microsoft and they probably wanted to get turn based working correctly on PC first, which now that its out of beta on PC (as of a couple days ago) and fully working w/o bugs, they can translate that feature over to console.

Glad to hear it! I'm 100% okay with devs wanting to make sure the PC build is all good before a port, because if PC players have to suffer for a port to happen, then that's not fair. I just hadn't heard anything about it an awhile and was hoping it was still gonna be a thing. I'm fine with a wait, although I do hope it won't be a super long one. Still, rather they take their time and get it right than rush something unfinished out the door. Edit: The thought of them being FORCED to port something makes me uncomfortable. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy to have PoE on ps4, but I would prefer it be by their own choice.

Though I think it's a different story with Deadfire thankfully. I think Obsidian might not be handling the entirety of the actual port of the game this time around. The people who are handling it were probably waiting for the final patches to drop for Turn based mode.

Cool thread of all the devs talking about their favorite Pillars 1 and 2 stuff! Learned that Carrie wrote Atsura. Like no wonder I liked him (She's Aloth's writer)

Not sure I agree with everything he said there and I still hate Durance but its nice to see him respond. Looking forward to see what they come up with for Waylanders.

I asked about Pathfinder Kingmaker and how shitty romance distribution was but he's silent for the moment and I'm sure he saw my tweet because I was tagged in every tweet of him

Several patches and 3 DLC's later, I wanted to ask if something has changed in terms of romance options. I haven't followed this thread for a long time because I haven't played the game yet and I'm afraid of spoilers. But as far as I know, it will come to console in November and I can finally buy it then. (yay) Can someone tell me (spoilerfree) if they finally fixed Aloth's romance... is it easier to trigger now? Have they added further romance options with the release of the expensions (Eder maybe)? Do the romanceable companions have more content now? Is Serafen still just a fling? Is something else different from the way it was before? Hope someone can answer my questions. I'm already quite excited for this game.

Finally started to play after its been collecting dust in my steam library for more than a year lol i think im at 1/3 of the game and im just at 1 rep with aloth, no flirts yet i think they added that red haired crew member romance? or was it just some flirts, idk eder is not romanceable by any and hes straight, thats still the same im sure. have no idea about serafen, is it the dwarf like one? i dont care about him lol tbh, cant get myself invested in it, with poe 1 i was into deep fast but here its kinda slow and boring for me for now...but mb its cause i dont have much free time to play and i share all the little time i get with anthem, lis 2 and poe 2

They fixed Aloths approval rep meter, yes. They also fixed the pacing of the other romances like Tekehu and Maia that were triggering really quickly. Youll have to progress through the main story a bit first before dialogue that has romance triggers will come up.
They did not add any more romance options. Its still the same characters available from the start. Serafen is still a fling, yeah. The DLC's are mostly their own thing and dont add upon romances in a huge way but there are a few new romance-related dialogue lines that were added. For example, the forgotten sanctum DLC has some romancey Aloth dialogue. And I heard Tekehu does as well, so Im guessing it just depends on who you're romancing.

Thank you fo answering my question! Good to know that they fixed Aloth's reputation meter at last. I'm interested in romancing him in one playthrough, so that's definitely good news to me. Also glad to hear that the romances can't be triggered too early anymore. One annoying point in Greedfall was that I finished most Vasco quests and was already best buddy with him, although I was still at the beginning of the game. So I'm happy that this will not be the case in PoE anymore. It's a little sad that they haven't added any new romance options, but I can live with that. But does it mean the red haired crew member is not romanceable? I think I've heard in another forum that he's a romance, but maybe that was just a rumor.

He just has some cute flirty lines he'll drop on you if you pick certain dialogue options. He's what they call a "sidekick". Deadfire has a lot of them. Basically just characters you can recruit onto your ship and can add them to your party. They have some dialogue but not much since they arent full companion types.

He's such good romance material lol. A lot of people found his writer on twitter and asked her TO MAKE IT SO! Alas. But yeah, his origins and homeland are definitely mysterious. I hope if theres a third game we get to explore it.
