So, now that Starfield has been confirmed at this year's E3, there should be a thread dedicated to it!  It has been confirmed so far that it's gonna be next-gen (although there's some possibilities for the game to be on current-gen consoles and hardware, according to Bethesda!). (*cough* GaysInSpace TM *cough*) mandatory gif for good luck  the only things I want from this is compelling companions and an alien dude to smooch. I really hope they stick to all bi route again because I'm pretty sure Hancock or Vilkas would have been straight otherwise. I guess we are gonna have our own ship to travel through space. It is not needed to be a commander or captain, I would like to be ordinary guy/girl tbh. And I really hope they put a step forward with companions, FO4 was great but I want more, more content please. I'm very much excited about Starfield. Apart from gayliens, what I expect from this next BGS game can be summed up as "retaining their strengths, while improving on their weaknesses." And judging from their latest main games, I am quite optimistic.
BGS games are a few that I consider truly unique. One aspect that stands out to me is player freedom. I think it is reasonable to expect this since this element is a core to BGS games so far. I love it when I first emerged from Vault 111 in Fallout 4, surrounded by beautiful and open environment. I could go anywhere from there. Where they could improve on here is to give more options to overcome a problem in quests.
With the new engine, I really hope BGS still makes it very modding-friendly. For me modding BGS games is half the fun and it is incredibly easy to do, compared to other games. I hope they retain how dynamic and accessible their engine is. For example, I could just now input one command into the console and give me 1000 bullets in Fallout 4. Or if I want to remove a hud for a screenshot, I can just use "tm" command and bam, the hud is gone. What they can improve on, well, is many. Stability issues and bugginess in BGS's engine is well known.
Romances in BGS games are still rather barebone. But they just started adding them in the recent games. What I like about it is that they don't treat gaymers as a second class citizen. The romances are all-bi. While the romance content in Fallout 4 is rather limited, they can be quite touching. I think adding more meat into the romance and maintaining openness in romance options are the way to go.
For combat, I am not worried, since I assume that combats in Starfield will be more similar to Fallout 4 than Skyrim.

Next gen hurray! I need to upgrade my CPU one day. It's the only part of my gaming PC that's kinda crappy lol. Yeah I hope they give whatever cast of companions they make a lot more content than what was in FO4. All bi would be great too and I hope whatever story they have planned for our character, it doesnt involve saving a family member or something like that. I'm excited to see what kind of alien races they come up with. I'd like to see a range from completely crazy looking to vaguely humanoid. No blue all women race plz. Some cool alien concepts I like AND COOL ARMOR PLZ. oh and I want neat weapons.   |

Also, lips are kind of a must for me. um..the teeth need to not look like knives (or just generally be too sharp/deadly). but they can be super strange as long as they don't kill me. but I have to admit I want them to be human enough (and male of course) that I know how everything works.  |

@kymira Hey, me too! I'm holding off on a CPU upgrade for now, since it's hard for me to justify the expense right now especially with my current backlog of older titles. Are we sharing alien art? Stellaris has some pretty good species portraits.
Edit: One problem I foresee with making more exotic aliens for player characters and companions is needing to make different armor models for the same armor set, like a helmet that includes space for horns or fringes for one species compared to a more simple shape for the human equivalent.
