The Waylanders (RPG inspired by Dragon Age: Origins)

Pretty soon so that's cool. I'm really hoping they'll polish it the last few months. Combat still feels a little janky and I get my ass kicked even on easy mode, but I'm excited to learn more about the companions and how the different eras will change them.

I don't mind differences sometimes... it's nice if characters do recognize that they're romancing a man or a woman instead of just acting/treating it the same regardless - but at the same time, I hope it's for the better rather than being detrimental. I mean look at Kaidan, his romance with MShep is very different and treated/animated differently compared to FShep and scenes are removed entirely. With Berath for example, it's... slightly concerning given his personal quest is I don't want a 'I don't usually do this with men but...' treatment or anything.

I would hope that wouldn't happen considering how inclusive they've said the game is, but I can't help but be slightly reserved about the romances being 'different' if the differences aren't equal in content/style.

They had to release the romance stuff a day before Wrath of the Righteous comes out. I'm not really going to have time to play much of it. I'll see if I get anywhere romance wise but otherwise I may just wait until November.

Well, come November I guess I'll be properly installing this - I bought it but didn't actually load it up ages ago, and I'm glad about that now - my Steam wallet is about empty, and, if I DO get a chance to put some money in there, it's ear-marked for the next expansion of TOR anyway.

Wonder if a console port is still something they're aiming for, especially given how up in the air discontinuing service for PS4/XB1 has been...

We finally have a release date so that's good. \o/ It has been delayed by a few months but I kinda expected that to happen. So I think I'll wait until then and start my new run fresh considering my last attempt never triggered any romances.

I've only been able to play a bit so far because it came out shortly before I had to go to bed so I haven't gotten to any new content yet as I work my way through what I'd already played in the EA.

I did however have to drop my difficulty down to Peasant mode (aka never die in combat) because idk what it is but the combat in this game is ludicrous. Trying to do the earlier fights and HP was dropping to zero in like three hits, and whilst I was a healer, my heals would barely touch the health bar, and you don't regen HP after combat, at least not on lower difficulties (either that on the regen is suuuper slow Mana would regen but HP it didn't feel like it.) I'd try healing up everyone after battle but the cooldown on my single heal at the time was too long and would maybe heal 5% of my health bar. But whatever, I don't care about the combat side and whilst my healer feels a bit of a waste now I'm enjoying the game more now I don't have to worry about dying repeatedly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: I'm now level 6, combat isn't sucking as bad anymore for some reason. Fought a Dragon and no-one went down plus my heals are slightly better... idk why. *Shrug.* I've done multiple companion quests (that you get pretty much straight after recruiting them) and Brigg already confessed they have feelings for my Werewolf. Turning them down was kinda awkward as it felt kinda fast and out of nowhere. The guys haven't said squat to me yet, I'm hoping they're just a slower burn romance and not just buggy like they were in early access. 

Edit 2: It's likely a bug, other people are having issues getting the companion to talk to them and if you can't talk, you can't trigger the romance conversation. So I guess I'm gonna wait for a while as I'm already right near the end of the Celtic era.

I didn't even notice that. What's weirder, is that on a few races, the pre-generated character before you customize for Werewolf and Mourian at least, have hairstyles that you can't even select when you go to customize. Like, they exist on the character when you switch to that specific race/class combo but under hair customization it isn't even an option to select.

They're there when you select that specific class/race combo but then if you look through the hairstyles they don't actually exist as options you can select.

But then it feels like a lot in this game is kinda buggy right now, like double of the same beard, or hairstyle some have noted.

Yeah it's kinda weird that some hairstyles are closs locked or only appear on the select screen but then can't be picked. I think the other races get a bit more variety in hairstyles but not much.
