So any discoveries on the medieval companion lineup yet? I haven't moved to that era yet just because companions are so bugged right now that most of them you can't talk to after their companion quests so it means you can't start their romance. For me, the only people who would speak to me after their quests were Brigg, and Tianna who both came onto me. All the other companions were bugged and not talking. On Steam, I've found people with the same issue though the companions who are bugged vary for them. I don't really want to move onto the next era (though I did do that accidentally and had to reload almost an hour back because I didn't realize the main quest I was doing was the last quest of the Celtic era.) So until the companion thing is patched I won't know what the Medieval line up is like, though I do know that Delba is still Delba, and Amergin is just old and super angry now.

I've been reading reviews and watched a video. It sounds like this game is in worse shape than Cyberpunk 2077-though being a smaller company I guess it won't get nearly the flack that did. Still-disappointing. I doubt there will be a console release at this rate.

Yeah, things aren't the best right now which is a shame. Difficulties are weird, like lower ones don't have health respawn after combat, some encounters are easy whilst others will one shot you, some quests are just... it'd be fine if you could highlight people but I have a few that are 'find and talk to npc' but npcs don't have name markers, nor do you have any idea where they are so you have to just... right click everyone to see if they are who you want. (There's a 'find the Goblins in x,y,z locations' quest, but they are invisible, all you can see of them is their very faded mask and the locations are huge. I gave up after a while because I got bored.)
On top of the companions being buggy and not talking to you in the first act, apparently things get worse in the next era with broken quests, freezing, missing strings, etc. It feels like it needed a much longer time under the hood. I have enjoyed what I played outside of the combat, but I think I'm gonna put this on hold for a while and hope patches will fix it. The companion bug was an issue during early access but they promised they had it fixed for full release and well... that is not the case.

Oh lord no quest markers? Shiz...another game where you have to keep a guide handy or pull your hair out. Yeah-I read that too that the second age is really rough with the side quests especially. I guess they ran out of money or something and had to release in hopes of getting enough funding to patch it. I hope it makes a recovery though, as it still shows promise-even if maybe not a game I would get into easily.

I'm not that far in (only done one quest after the game opened up plus the companion quests for Amergin, Berath, Heraklios, and Khaldun) and I've already started the romance with Heraklios. We jumped to sex very fast, not sure if other dialogue got bugged or that's just how he works. No one has talked to me after their personal quest, Heraklios is the only one I got to talk to again and it was after I finished that main quest.
I've really liked it so far though and the combat feels a lot better once you get a few skills so you're not just standing there auto attacking.

Sounds like your one companion that didn't bug out was Heraklios then. For me it was Brigg, for others it was Amergin. I wouldn't mind the bug if it hadn't hit the one companion I wanted to romance on this character. But it seems like sex is very fast for everyone. At this point you may not have known or talked to the companions for very long, done one quest and suddenly sex. I think I'd feel pretty awkward if I visit the old home of Berath's family and we're discussing his now dead wife and children and in the next conversation we're having sex... but alas I can't talk to him so idk. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Oh lord no quest markers? Shiz...another game where you have to keep a guide handy or pull your hair out. Yeah-I read that too that the second age is really rough with the side quests especially. I hope it makes a recovery though, as it still shows promise-even if maybe not a game I would get into easily. Most quests have the markers but the 'find and talk to these npcs' don't seem to have them so it becomes very tedious when you don't know where they are and can't highlight people like post other games to see who the npc is. No way am I gonna keep running around giant maps and right clicking every single npc so their name will show. (I found one out of three people I needed for a quest this way because I was trying to find an npc for a different 'find this npc' quest.)

Hopefully, no important quests will have that find the npc mechanic tied to them then.

From the ones I got it was just some side quests, though one was to speak to people to get stuff for a fancy armour, but I don't feel like hunting high and low all over the place for random npcs.
Speaking of armour, I'm currently level 8, the only armour I get through random drops are level 3, and shops will have maybe 1-2 level 6 items, and the rest are level 3. I know when I accidentally did the final main quest most of the drops from it were level 6 but that's still much lower than my current level. Highest level item I got is a staff from companion quest which was level 13 and that said its magical properties won't unlock until much later or something (likely because it's so high level.)

Decided to play a bit more to try and meet the reincarnation of the companions. I only managed to find a few because the quest said 'hey they should be in this location' so I went there and only found three on top of already having Delba, and knowing where Amergin was. I got bored of searching a big area and not finding the rest. Spoilers below for Rea, Heraklios, and Mal reincarnations: Mal is still a woman, Rea is still a werewolf only... not so furry anymore. Heraklios is still a hot dude but his personality is very different now so if you love him because of his fun loving nature you might... not like his reincarnation so much.) If people want pics I can provide them, but for Mal I didn't realize it was her until it was too late to screenshot, and now I can't actually talk to her, so I only have a sorta zoomed in normal pic of her chilling on the ship. As for the two that didn't reincarnate, Delba is Delba, Amergin is old but also hot, and is very grumpy. I can only assume Berath will still look the same or mostly the same because he's Mourian. I thought I'd do some side quests just to see if I'd stumble across the companions there, but Rea's softlocked the game for me and I had to force quit the game so... right now I'm not going to bother any further. Act 2 is a mess, the upgrades you can get for your characters combat abilities are... kinda messy. One of the three options that I could upgrade my Healer into didn't even describe what it did so I had to guess from the icon. Some quests have no voice acting, mouths don't move, the act 2 area is laggy, and I got a quest that just said missing strings for all the information. I've vaguely guessed that this quest is to find and click on these... shell looking loot things because I've found three so far and the missions says 3/10, so I'm guessing it's that. I have to seriously wonder what the heck has happened with the release of this game honestly.

It sounds strangely like a bad port someone released for a system they didn't expect to get as many sales on...yet it's a pc exclusive for now, so -shrug-. On the reincarnation: Glad Herc stayed male-I don't know enough about his personality then or before to say if I'll like either version more than the other-but still nice that there are 3 options in both time periods. Though it sounds like the romances are just hookups-so maybe not what I was hoping for.

Yeah it's just... it feels almost like an old build got released instead of a new build or something. The companion bug is something that existed in early access and devs posted in threads that it would be fixed for full release but it's clearly not. Adding in the 'missing strings' everywhere, even in the first act, it's just... Cyberpunk levels of clusterfuck almost. It's so confusing. He's a bit of a himbo, excitable, happy, itching for a fight, very proud of his abilities... and his reincarnation is a lot more subdued, quieter. When I met him and Mal during their kinda joint 'reunion', I realized he was a companion when we all got teleported back to the ship but I honest to God could not figure out who he was the reincarnation of until he mentioned it because the two are very different. Mal I guessed as soon as she mentioned a demon. XD But I quite like this reincarnation and I guess maybe there's a chance their 'old selves' might begin to leak through the reincarnation because you help them to remember who they are/were. Rea, and Mal feel the same, though... I don't think Rea is technically a reincarnation. Heraklios feels the most changed of those I have met. Sadly I didn't get much further because the Rea quest was just massively buggy and softlocking, so I just didn't feel like playing anymore with how broken it all was.

I had to know. I reloaded to before I did Rea's bugged mission and finished off a side quest. Good job I did, I found Brigg, Khaldun, and technically Traste. RIP to anyone who wanted to romance Khaldun because er... yeah. As for Berath my character apparently knows the location of him, as after a convo with reincarnated Khaldun they talk about him, but the Catacombs marker to enter the location only existed when I was doing a mission (and I couldn't reach it because it was blocked off during the mission) and outside of the mission the catacombs map marker simply doesn't exist. So I can't access him. Reincarnation spoilers: Brigg was a woman with a son, and Traste... yeaaah, complicated currently. Khaldun is now a man and a Priest. Berath is either dead or bugged to fuck right now, all I know is the Church has apparently done horrible things to him in the catacombs but I can't actually access them during the one quest the map marker for them showed on, and outside of the quest it doesn't exist anymore. So I'm hoping it's just buggy and that Berath is still alive... somewhere. *Sigh.*
I think I'm done with this game now, some of the companions reincarnations definitely got off waaaay better than others in the looks department and they're all the same gender as they were prior but one. (I haven't met reincarnated Lugaid or random npcs yet so idk about them, but the core companions I've found all but Berath.) Edit: ...Well I couldn't find Berath but he showed up as a lovely surprise on my party select screen. Holy fucking Christ. The Church is gonna fucking burn. I feel sick just looking at the party select screen.

It's too bad this got such a messy release...I REALLY hope it gets fixed because this one had so much potential to be good. It's been available for players to test for so long now that it's hard to believe there are so many issues with it. Have they made any statements on it? I can't believe hairstyles would be class locked so hopefully that's just a bug.
I really hope that this game's condition gets better because I'd definitely love to give it a chance this summer when I have more time...also hoping the romances aren't as shallow as they seem to have been described...We've waited so long for this one!

I haven't seen any statements so far and the Twitter hasn't acknowledged anything and I don't think anything has been acknowledge on the Steam forum recently either.

Okay, I finally found Berath. Apparently I needed to go to a certain location to trigger a random encounter... but I didn't know I needed to do this all this time and it was only deciding to randomly travel to the location that I triggered the encounter. So, I have the full team back, kinda.
Things are still very buggy so I likely won't play much past the last couple of quests I have.
Edit: Never mind. I finished the game. It is very short. Abruptly short. Also it had a plot twist. I hate that I put 35 hours into this game.

(probably from you on twitter! lol! ) I really wish this would have been that next big game to draw us all back into gaming, but dang this sounds rough all around. I'll still keep an eye out to see how it does in the long run. -shrug-

I'm honestly, truly hoping that the game is so glitched that I missed a load of content, but if it isn't, and this is just how the game is... it's Cyberpunk levels of disappointment for me. Maybe others will enjoy it, but for me...

-reads the twist- Well-I guess that is certainly a thing that happened in a game. Pardon me while I bury my interest in this game in a shallow grave.

When I tried to play, I had a notice about my video driver and noticed a massive lag issue, which stopped me from really even trying anything out - it wasn't as bad as when I tried playing Dreamfall Chapters, thank god, that was a nightmare all its own, but still too obnoxious to deal with.
So... Hit me with the spoilers, let me know how bad it gets.
