I must admit I'm quite addicted to this game at the moment! I am only power level 65 but I feel like most of the time I'm doing okay in battle. Though I'm getting closer to being underleveled (unless there's another non-90 alliance quest unlocked after I finish my current one). Either way, here's hoping I level up some during my current mission: East Anglia (sp?).

Usually, you can get by if you're about fifteen-ish levels within the recommended range.
Still, yeah, after a point, you start almost HAVING to do the various sidequests for the XP. I managed to stick to doing the artifact collections - Roman artifacts and cursed symbols - while ignoring most of the World Events and I managed to stay within the target range of all the major missions.

So I did the Yule quests to help me level up to 91, and I could have kept playing for the armor and weapons-but sadly they are all bear items-and I have a raven build. So...probably not worth it.

Doing the first of 2 level-90 quests that I got at the moment. I didn't punch 2 characters (cause of the ending guide) during an argument....but I really wanted to!!!

I just heard NPC refer to my Eivor as she for the first time. I don't know how to feel.

I just heard NPC refer to my Eivor as she for the first time. I don't know how to feel. Yeah, that happened to me two or three times. Not that many. And he was also referred to as ‘he’ as well. So it’s pretty clear it’s a few bugged lines of dialogue. While I didn’t love it, it was more confusing than anything. The first time was with Broder and Brothir and I was genuinely confused as to who they were talking about at first. Hopefully it gets patched up soon.

I only registered it happening once, I think - there was some event that featured a crowd of children, and they try to draw in Eivor through dialogue, and I walked away, so I caught some snippet of like 'where's she going?' But I couldn't find that event again to test it out if that was like just a misfired dialogue or anything.
Otherwise, I never really noticed any kind of gender identifying hiccup. Doesn't mean it didn't happen for me, just that I didn't register it.

I haven't noticed any gender issues thus far. But...I also played the patched version of the game with the xmas event (so maybe that's why?) However, I find the drunk glitch to be almost as offensive. Lordy I hate when I load up drunk! The effect totally does my head in, and they have to patch that soooon!!!
If you are curious, it seems if you take part in the Xmas quests it can bug your game to where you will randomly load the game up with Evior drunk. (just like if you actually played the drinking mini-game or whatever). I'm hoping a future (soonish) patch will remedy it, but if not I'll just have to deal with it I guess. At least the xmas event will be over soon-so new games would be safe.

Head's up, there's an alliance quest that also uses that mechanic, where Eivor gets drugged while drinking in the name of framing them for murder. And it's just as irritating there, too.

Thanks for the heads up! story spoilerish: I finally killed Dag, i didn't know for sure that was a thing...but I had a feeling it would be since he's a total jerk for 90% of the game leading up to that.
I really didn't understand his motivation either. I was under the impression early on that he was just as much Evior's friend as Sigurd...but he sure as hell didn't like anything evior did after they got to England. -shrug- Going to save a certain Jarl soon (maybe). Also of note I think I have qualified for 4/5 good ending choices-so that's a done deal at least.

The thing with Dag seems to basically be that he's got this big image of himself in his head, bigger than he is. So when Eivor does what is basically their duty, as appointed by Sigurd, his jealously spikes - apparently, Dag was Sigurd's childhood best friend before Eivor was adopted. So Eivor steps in to the role of jarl in Sigurd's absence, that jealousy says to Dag "that should be YOU speaking in Sigurd's absence."
But yeah, this isn't really explained in particular - Dag is only really shown as an outsider, a tertiary character at best. Like when I think of the core people of Ravensthorpe, it's Eivor, Sigurd, and Randvi (even if I still say that she's little more than a sexy lamp, she's at least positioned along them as leaders). Dag? Not so much. And you don't get to converse with him at any point, so when they make a big deal about this... Honestly, Dag's honestly as "just THERE" to me as Randvi.

So I finished my adventure in vinland (spoiler area name). It was pretty fun to explore a new map that's much smaller-yet felt interesting. I also liked the armor you get there...wasn't too fond of having to leave all my other gear behind though.

So I am on the last of the alliance quests (well actually it's a quest I got from the Hidden one's storyline technically).
I still need a good many more raw materials to get the last 2 upgrades for my settlement. I hope I didn't get the glitch where there's not enough to upgrade it all. If so not the end of the world, but would be annoying.
I only have one more raid left on my map, but maybe there will be more eventually. (still waiting to level up to go for the last one since it's 340...I'm only 315 or so (I forget).
However, so far I have avoided doing anything under-leveled for the most part. (I did do one 250 raid at 225ish just cause I really wanted to do another raid...) So at least I know I can avoid that in future runs (if I ever do them; I tend to not replay these games).

Well, forgive the triple post, but it's been days and I want to give a quick review and talk about the ending(s) some. The game is pretty good. I had a lot of fun with it. The story though was not the best they ever did, but it's not the worst either. I do get exhausted by their need to kill so many characters in these stories. The Combat is great for the most part. I really am glad that shields are back, and I found myself sticking to a shield and Ax the whole time. In fact I stuck with the starting ax the whole game. Once I got to upgrade it, it always just felt like too much trouble to start over with a new weapon. -shrug- I think that was one of the complaints I have. The fact that there was very little interesting gear/weapons to come by. And most of it just all felt the same with one little special effect. I could have just as easily stayed with the raven starting armor the whole game-but I did switch to the Hidden ones eventually, just because I liked its bonus slightly better. Though to be honest, the raven gear overall is better probably. The endings: Main questline There are technically 2 endings for this I guess, but I'll just talk about both to save time.
The Whole Valhalla part of the game was so tediously boring. If I had to see sigrud get his arm caught off again I think I would have rage quit. lol!
Um...the wedding was okay, but yeah having to turn down Randvi a second time was stupid.
Oh, I almost forgot the final alliance quest was gosh-awful. It felt so pointless and just there to kill off a few more characters for good measure. "Present Day ending" While cinematically this felt like the only real ending moment the game had in a way...it was very unsettling and I wish it wasn't there.
I know I've complained about the present day stuff being annoying to me-but this one really just spoke to me about just how draining it is to try to make me care about these characters that take up less than 10% of such long games. Layla's semi-death left me feeling bad for the fact I just didn't care as much as I felt like I should have. Truth is-it just felt empty. How are her and Desmond supposed to save the world if they are trapped forever in ancient people's cyberspace?
Also, Hytham/Loki being the one in the animus now really really really really doesn't please me. Order ending (if you can even qualify it as an ending) You do all that work to track down the "father" who was very clearly Alfred (figured it out very early on) and you don't even get the option to kill him... I hated that character a lot, and I didn't get to sink my hidden blade into him...
0/10
(I assume they couldn't kill him because of historical accuracy or something dlc related...but still annoyed me)

Anything worth noting in the new patch/update? I was only lukewarm on the Yule content. It was fine, but meh.

As far as I know-it just made a lot of bug patches and removed the yule festival (which is good since that means no more drunk Evior). I didn't even notice it was a thing till I had already been using the newest version for over a day.

She was like this whenever I started a game or reloaded it. I've had quite a lot of bugs with world events and didn't get the reward because of that (the quest was done but I've got nothing from it), looting animals bugged on me when it comes to trophies (no specific parts to complete the hunter mini jobs) and the server is constantly crashing down in many places on the map once I see some of the pictures people made in photo mode (I've contacted support on December, they answered they know about this issue and they're working on it but they did nothing about it for over a month now). I've had exactly the same issues on my 2nd play through so I'm taking a break until they fix it up.

izut Oh, I did get the drunk bug during the Yule festival. I almost forgot about that. For me, it was only an issue when I first loaded up, and after that it was fine till I quit playing. However, yes till I learned about how meditating would fix it-it was a royal pain in the ass. Luckily I only once loaded into a situation where I was in combat/couldn't meditate while "drunk". That was a bad time! Regardless it was a horrible bug so yes by all means big strike for them there! I'm glad the Yule is gone, and I hope if it comes back next xmas they have it sorted (which by all means they should!)
