Yeah...I'm not seeing any real reason to pay for this...doesn't seem like it's worth the money. Also I can't help but laugh at the collection they are offering. "Hey you want this for $150? Well too bad it doesn't include the game! You have to pay extra for that!"  |

And... Honestly, fuck you BioWare for that.
Like... I am getting LEGIT pissed off, not just the lowkey salty about this. Like... This franchise has been shit to queer men from day one, and the little thing of offering this one full trilogy M/M romance, something that the fans have been able to make work with just in-game assets, so not even needing them to bring the actors back in to the studio for some pick up lines, but just do this one thing to correct this thing that THEY messed up, using the pieces they already have to offer something they should have included from day one... I'm genuinely FURIOUS about this.
This was a chance to fix a mistake, correct an injustice, and they AREN'T.

Most likely they wouldn't be able to add back in old content to make mods if the content doesn't exist anymore. If it plays out the same way they might be able to splice it from the old games but... It's a serious bullshit maneuver from them that they couldn't be bothered to fix some of the main issues from the trilogy, i.e no same sex romance for Male Shepard until the third game.
Also looking at those before/after screenshots? It's like they cut out all the atmosphere and grim dark of the first game just to make it prettier and add some lens flares. The mood and atmosphere is completely different in some of those shots. Remastered doesn't always mean 'better.'
I'll skip this, modders have managed to do so much with the games to make the romances better and Bioware couldn't even manage that. Just the most minimal effort required to take more money from people. Hard pass for me.

BioWare is dead to me. I just can't imagine them doing anything to win my faith back at this point. I can't see how anything will change. It only stays the same or worse in some cases. I fully expect the new Dragon Age to have 2 male romances for gay men...1 being promiscuous bisexual, and the other an emotionally constipated gay. CAuse those are the 2 romances we get.

Hahaha they aren’t even leaving enough scraps for modders to run with. Yikes! It also means gay mShepard has nothing for 2/3 the games right? Not just 1?
I think I’ll eventually get it, but I’ll wait a while.... or I might just buy 1 and 2 and mod them and complete my ME3 with the DLC I never got... or look for a bundle.

I tweeted out to them as well. It's really sad that it's come to this and that he's answering so many other questions and ignoring us. We need to make our voices heard and let them that we can't stand for this anymore. It's 2021. If modders can restore the content with what was already in the game, so can they.

Hell, I'm almost positive that Mark Meer and Raphael Sbarge would, if need be, be on board with coming in and doing the odd pick up line for like a day player's wage or something - they seem to very much GET the importance of providing this content for queer players.
That BioWare is going out of their way to avoid this, to even avoid acknowledging there's even an ISSUE... Tells you what all those claims of "inclusivity" really come to.

Yeah, I'm very conflicted about this. On the one hand if this was just a quick upgrade port then I can understand there's like no budget to even do that, but then we looked at what they did with all the changes for mass effect 1 they should really incorporate it at this point. The only issue I could see is maybe making mass effect 3 follow that transition but heck I'll take Kaidan ignoring we were together in the past because he got pissy with us lol. At the very least though they should acknowledge or reply a message about that, like hey we can't do this because of A and B, it would still suck but don't flat out ignore it. This just has been a reminder of the bad way they would respond to things during the trilogy.
Sadly, it seems we are looking more at the BioWare team from the trilogy days, than the ones from Andromeda. Yeah Andromeda took a lot of missteps, but at least they took in all the feedback and did what they could given their resources after a rocky release, ultimately that team was disbanded so I understand they had a ton of limits to fix things in the end. Which brings me to the biggest problem perhaps with BioWare currently, there is many teams and they are all very divided in vision and even more so now where the teams for mass effect and dragon age have changed so much, who knows what will the outcomes of those be. I want to have hope, but I'm also afraid of the step backs we might get.
And I mean it sucks because putting this stuff aside mass effect is really good and means a lot to me, like I'm excited to play those games again, but it was a golden opportunity to really prove their inclusive vision is still firmly present, heck even if they only restored Jack or thane, just one romance really, even more so at a time where cyberpunk just failed to deliver upon that.

I get the feeling from having met Mark that if a fan asked him to do FemShep's lines in the Garrus romance he'd oblige, DC Douglas said something at a con about doing fanfic reading with him, I'd say if it happens it's most likely to be at one of DC's fanfic reading panels rather than recording something to put on the internet as DC got in trouble with the american wing of Capcon for calling his fanfic panel the Erotic Wesker Fanfic Panel, he now calls it something else I wonder if they'll fix this bug? It happened in my game with FemShep, apparently it's due to Shepard being set to look at Liara's flying drone rather than Liara herself |

You know, the more I look at that side-by-side footage of Virmire, the more I realize... I DON'T like this graphics upgrade. Like... I feel like the original was evocative of a real environment enough that my mind filled in the gaps, and these new graphics... don't feel like they do that, so it just starts feeling more like what it is (a video game, computer generated imagery), rather than looking "more realistic."
Also the picture of Sovereign on Eden Prime honestly lost a lot by taking out the red in the sky, no longer quite feels as ominous.
I'm also realizing how much I HATED the interface change in ME2, to the point of legit preferring the ME1 style, seeing these images of ME1 with the later style. It looked cleaner, more like the heads up display I'd imagine Shepard would have, rather than the style that we had later. A lot of the mechanics of ME1, I liked, they just needed refinement. Instead, ME2 tossed it all out and started new.
And, on the "not that it'll matter to me" but default FemShep in ME1 just falls face first into the uncanny valley for me. Like, it was there before, but it's only gotten WORSE.
In conclusion, even aside from the representational issues, I honestly don't want this.

But I did see a picture of the old shep versus new fem shep...and she looked worse, unless that was a bad picture. I will say this though, I’m seeing a lot of messages asking walters and the game in general for restoring kaidan’s romance outside of our forum circle, so is good to see at least a lot of people really bringing this up forward.
And yeah I don’t know how I feel on the changes, on one hand it looks better, in another it loses a lot of atmosphere.
