You can manual save but there's only one! haha that's why I totally recommend to have lots of folders with saves with every single point you think the game is going to screw you up (like the beloved choice for example haha) Julien is totally for you my dear even if the game falls short in character development I'm sure you are going to fill those gaps, you are the master of headcanoning haha Only one manual save sounds worse than no manual saves, what if you have save corruption and don't think to back up save folders. D: Hopefully they improve on that next game because oof. Especially if they're gonna whammo you with quests like the Duchess one.
XD Indeed I am the master of headcanoning (which is a sad thing honestly lol) and Julien is def my type from what I've read about him. I will def give the game a chance when I have the time. I'll be sure to poke you with any questions if I get stuck though, lol.

I plan to go Sorcerer as well so I welcome any tips. (Love me a magic class XD.) I'll look more into class stuff when I decide to try it out though. Also why is Julien so damn pretty. It's like this game knew me. I never had a chance.

Sorcerer is a very powerful class but it has two weaknesses, the most powerful spells take time to be ready (so be sure to be on a reasonable distance from the enemies) and they offer no aim like archer classes, which can be an annoyance at times. Also, there are several elements (holy, dark, fire, ice and lightining) and depending on the enemy you will be changing the spells you have from time to time. Also if a boss is giving you a hard time "demon's periapts" are your friends for magic power (they stack to 4) + some mushroom for stamina. There are wakestones (ressurrection items) if some monster is giving you a hard time too (I didnt use them much, like three times in the whole game, I died a lot though xD) Julien is definitely super handsome haha and almost a tie with Reynard for me edit. Fournival is like the only vendor that sells you demons periapts unlimitedly so be sure.... spoilers help him when the time comes, he's a sneaky cunt but you can roleplay it in the way he only lives thanks to you and thats why he sells you stuff for less price after that, or you dont want to leave her daughter fatherless or whatever!

Julien is the easier choice to not screw things up imo since he doesnt go away from the game unlike Valmiro or Reynard, so I think if you are careful you are fine! From the look of it I think I followed the same guide (the one posted above) and it worked really well for me, just remember to ignore the duchess (if you want the hero achievement you need to endure a forced romance with her). I totall recommend doing the sidequests since they expand the story quite well in my opinion but the duchess... it's just a waste of time and totally violates player's agency. (if your character is bi and a total horndog I'd say go for it though lmao) Yeah. He doesn't seem missable either, but then again maybe...I know there's one quest the game says involves him has me follow him or something and it can be screwed up. But I don't know if that blocks him out or is just for that quest? Either way I'll try to reload if need be, but that's sometimes easier said than done. edit: forgot to mention I don't plan to do the duchess quest. I'll grind out some rando battles for the xp I'll miss out or something.

So...I'm level 16 now, almost made it to level 17 but I died and lost almost a whole level of xp cause I hadn't saved lately. So I guess that's it for me tonight cause I'm pissed. I made it to the bigger city where you can change your vocation and such. I changed to the Magick Archer. I like the way the bow works now, but I still find the combat too fast. All the enemies are clearly on speed or meth or something. Just slow down 20% and this game would be fun...as is, it's pretty frustrating. I'm on a quest called a troublesome Tome, and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I'm on a quest called a troublesome Tome, and I have no idea what I'm doing. If I were you I would look for the location of the tome cause the game sometimes is kinda sketchy haha you can mark the quest as leading quest and I think there should be an orange-redish circle in the map (I did the quest before knowing this was an option haha so I'm not sure). Also this quest is very helpful down the road so be a nice guy at the end of it edit. warning, the steam guide is cool and all but if some quests feel like there should be done on higher levels, so good luck About you concern about Julien's first quest (kind of) I remember that it was easy to do, but I had the safety of having back ups >_< in ps4 you can do back ups with a pendrive I dont know if you can do it on xbox post your characterrrrrrrrrrrrr

Davrin's boobs I just uninstalled the game. I shouldn't have gone back tonight, but I did-and I got further along that quest. I had to fight 2 ogre's at a maticore-and then I killed a lot of thieves cause I wasn't an all-female team. I assume I can still look up the other thief place and go there still, but I just don't care. Cause even though I have a save-just after doing all that a group of 4 thieves whipped my whole party because they were suddenly 5 times harder than anything else in the area. I tried, but this game is just not for me. As for sharing my character here's a shot I took at the start of the game. Not the best photo, but it's the only one I took.

aww so sorry lee! that part is definitely hard, you have to buy female clothes in the Black Cat to not get in a fight with them, but prior that bandits fights are definitely the worst, like I had more problems with them than I had with large monster like cyclops or chimeras. Your boy is cute!

No worries. I wanted to like the game, and I tried to. Still, it annoys me greatly when games have difficulty options and they don't respect the setting you choose. There is nothing "easy" about that game.

Games having difficulty options and then not sticking by them is infuriating. I understand if I'm low level and go to a high level zone, but random difficulty spikes out of nowhere is a pain. Sorry you had to deal with that Lee. Dare I ask why and how having an 'all female team' (or having female clothes) stops a fight? Like... I'm dying to know the context.

I wish things were like the thoughts you are having Far (lmaoo) but it's typical japaneses humor with male characters crossdressing haha, there are two main bandit gangs that they hate eachother, one is men only and the other one is women only (they are misandristic which its very telling of the writting of the game sometimes but what can you expect from a mainstream japanese game ), your character only has to do is putting a female dress to have them in non-hostile mode and gain their trust (it is implied that the chief is bi so the depraved bi trope is strong too). I recommend to do the pacific quest from the female bandits first just in casa, problem is they are in kinda high level zone so maybe you can run away from fights (it is doable and got there fighiting but I dont remember what lvl I was)

Like... surely my male character and male pawn opening their mouths to talk (idk if the game is voiced but evne if it's not they'd still talk regardless) will give the game away? ??? Curious. I guess I'll see what it's like when I get there if I get around to the game sometime lol.

Sorry you had to deal with that Lee. I'd love it if there was even any indication of what level you are expected to be at for quests-the game gives you nothing on that area. The areas themselves likewise make no sense. For example there's a quest to go talk to a witch early on-and you have to go through bandits that are clearly meant for a higher level character than what's possible at that point, but once you are past them (and there's a LOT OF THEM) you are faced by enemies that are all far weaker and give almost no xp in the swamp area you are going to. If the enemy units were labeled LV wise-I'd be shocked if they didn't have level 15 enemies in certain early-game places and at any time enemies are just randomly up to 5 levels over what you are at. Just a guess though, as the game doesn't share that info as far as I Know. I kept thinking maybe if I grinded enough levels It'd be fine, but I'm pretty sure the game just kept scaling up with me. I upgraded my weapons and for a while, I was doing fine, but then I Leveled up 3 times and yet again my attacks are doing nothing and since I used all my money to upgrade recently there's shit I can do about it.

That does sound rough. Hopefully that's another thing a 2nd game might improve on. It's never fun to struggle past a difficult area to reach another area that's a walk in the park compared to what you just had to fight through.

I played this game for the first time about a year ago. What I remember about difficulty and analyzing game mechanics concerning it is that it’s an exploit system. So if an enemy is weak to something, it’s easy. If it is resistant to something, it’s hard. So beyond the confusing level calling, damage numbers, buff stacking, consumables, etc, if you aren’t doing the specific tactic (that your pawns can learn, renting high rated other people’s pawns are amazing cause they teach them these exploits) you’ll have a bad time. If you do the exploits (damage types, weak points, specific consumables) then enemies become easy. A good example are the damage sponge enemies on BBI, if you attack the weak point of the enemy with the correct damage type (usually holy) they melt. If you don’t, they take an hour. So basically from what I observed mystic knight and magic archer are basically the best class to play because they have the best tools to maximize the exploits. Or go sorcerer and just stack miasma on everything. Multiple casts stack and bypass armor and even if it theoretically is low damage it damages weak points in an aoe and you just cast 20 of them and do a lot of dps.
Strange clunky game but is endearing in some ways.

I watched the trailer. I felt like they were just showing off creatures and not telling much about the game. Oh well, hopefully, it'll be better than the first game.
