Question for those that completed the first two games. Is it always this dark (visually) and is she always by her lonesome without human interaction or whatever (gameplay wise not personality wise)? Like I got to the part where Rolfe (sp?) got attacked by the wolves and his backpack was âall the way up the mountainâ as Lara put it like even she was mocking the game itself for that plot point; but at this point Iâm getting a bit bored of the monotone solo Mission thing. I feel like Prey and Dishonored while mostly played solo, the protagonist still had like enough human interaction that went beyond just oh meet and then oh now we got to split up and then regroup, either that or they kept things fresh through the missions that I wasnât bothered by the lack of human interaction or plot.

Hmm I'd say its only dark when you were in a cave or indoors or in a tomb in the first two, two had a lot of outdoors environments and it was pretty bright. It's been a long time since I played 1 so I can't remember too much. You never really have a second person with you for long if at all. I personally love the solo mission feel in games and with rare exceptions *god of war* hate having a partner who you are basically escorting the whole game *looking at you resident evil 4*. I think this game will be darker in more ways than one than the previous and it sounds kinda metal gear solid 3 with the survival aspect so that should be interesting.

Iâm not too bothered by the solo thing (i.e. prey and dishonored as mentioned) just that something feels off for me in the first game (even though I really love the visuals in general and I really like to watch playthroughs of it and I actually like the game) Could be because itâs in third person (unlike the aforementioned games) but I really doubt it bc Iâve played loads of tps and it didnât bother me before.

The first game is veryyyy dark, with a few exceptions, even during the day the game has avery grim looking setting. Rise of the tomb raider definitely toned down things on that front, its more adventurous in that regard. She does have moments with different characters in the first and second but not as often. Your mostly on your own but not all the time. This 3rd game seems to be going more to the darker approach of the first game.

Yea this eclipse seems to be a theme so I imagine the game will probably be darker as a whole.

A hidden island? I can suspend my disbelief. A hidden valley with the ruins buried under ice? OK... But that? Where the fuck was that supposed to be? There are no active Mayan cities with thousands-strong crowds. There just aren't.

I really dislike super dark games tbh (and yet I'm making one, maybe that's why I dislike it)

It seems dual pistols are not coming back AGAIN so this is another TR I'm not going to buy not only that devs shit on classic fans which it's even worse, they even made an apology, sorry bitch too late Wonder woman without her lasso? Thor without his hammer? Indiana Jones without his whip? Yes, iconicity is very important. since this seems to be the last origin game I would have expect the dual pistols return at least in the ending fighting the last boss, but it seems they keep disparaging classic fans probably my last comment here too. TR seems to be dead for good to me ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ

Don't say goodbye though, you never know when we might get an actual remaster, or a return to her old school style in some form. We will have to see how this game even fairs. Because even though I have enjoyed a lot the reboots, they aren't exactly as memorable or iconic as the previous ones, so I can't help but feel they could eventually move a lot of sales just by remaking an old one. I always thought they should have continued Underworld Lara, keep improving it and have this on the side. Also, Thor lost his hammer in one of the movies .

I would be content if I can see more Alicia in the big screen dunno about games though, I may be angry right now but when the anger is over sadness it's what remains Lara means a lot to me didnt see that movie yet Thor is by far my less liked franchise from MCU but he got an ultimate universe looking new one in Infinity lol
edit. oops spoilers sorry

edit. oops spoilers sorry Lol your fine, the funko thor pop doesn't hide it anyway. I do hope we get more Alicia and she does play with those dual pistols. I stil wish that was the Lara we had on these games but keep the other plots, because the Trinity stuff and plots is fine, the gripe is Lara needs to show more passion for what she is doing on these games. The first game makes sense her being how she is but by the second one she should have been a bit more Tomb raider involved rather than, im just following Dad's tapes. Its more sad too when you play a game like Uncharted Lost Legacy that does feel more Tomb Raider ish in the long run too.

TR seems to be dead for good to me ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ It's really immature and not classy when people in charge of handling iconic properties like Tomb Raider go on and trash talk fans of the older things...or even just the old stuff in general. I had to deal with the same thing when Sailor Moon was being remastered by Viz. They always trash talked fans of the original dub and said some pretty awful things about us and the actresses and people involved despite all the hard work they put into it in the 90s. This is why I refuse to watch the new dub and support such an awful group of people. I'm sad this is also the case with Tomb Raider, so I totally know how you feel. It makes me sad we will never see a "classic" type Tomb Raider again...but at least we will always have the classics and our memories of them. ...I mean I have a huge pile of Sailor Moon VHS tapes from the 90s and regret nothing, hehe. It'll always be the only version of Sailor Moon for me, and nothing these supposed "fans" at Viz say will ever change that. Same for Lara and her iconic classic look and choice of weapons!

I know the feeling. Honestly I know it's probably silly of me, but I just really can't get used to the Japanese names of the characters. I know they are the "original" names, but I just got really attached to the name Serena in particular. I liked that it was short for Serenity (her mom) and just got really attached to the other names too. Eh...it was a really extended period since there was that huge ass gap between the first and second half of Sailor Moon R and the other 2 seasons that finally made it to Cartoon Network. I can't undo that much history just to be more true to the source material.

The gameplay trailer for Shadow -- Jonah's new look freaked me out for a second and those mirroring/reflecting edits were kind of weird, but outside of that, I'm digging it. I like that it looks like the puzzles are being pushed more into the forefront, feels more like the classic games in that regard.
