As we approach the end of the season, the thought occurs to me that there's nothing about their characters that necessitates Ash and Lorca having American accents. I mean, they do a good job to my ear, but both actors are British. Why fake it? I get it when Brits play roles in dramas set in the US, but this is Trek. Could have fooled me that they were brits. If you think about it, Klingons aside, Georgiou is the only major character who doesn't sound American. That's kind of weird for Trek, historically.

Well, with Jason Isaacs, I believe it was a conscious choice on his part to avoid a comparison to the OTHER British Star Trek captain. Not sure about Shazid Latif, though.

I suppose that makes some sense. And he is very good with accents, as evidenced by his "Scotty" tribute that was a better scottish accent than James Doohan ever managed.

That was one hell of a finale that ending tho, I wonder what season 2 is going to be about hmm.
I must say I quite enjoyed the green space babes, glad they had some male eye candy for you all. I like when they go to the seeder parts the universe, it feels more real. L'Rell said respect my authority which was awesome. yay great show, sad it over though.

As predicted, Burnham saves the day and is rehabilitated into Starfleet. I wonder who the new captain will be?
It looks like we get to meet Spock next season. Wonder if it'll be Zachary Quinto?
Nice touch with the TOS theme at the end...

They wrote an out with the mycelial network being explicitly referred to as a link between life and death, Hugh appearing within the network, and the pointed shot of that green spark landing on Tilly that was still unexplained at the end of the season - with the reactions from the fans, I have to think that they included that intentionally to leave themselves the opening.

It would be lovely if they find a way to bring him back. He was one of my favourite characters, and I really bought his relationship with Stamets.

There are currently 3 star trek discovery shorts if you have the all access cbs, just 15 minute character development stints, pretty interesting if you care.

First episode was a bit let's-establish-the-new-scenario-ish, but I really liked the second. *Detmer crush intensifies*

The ship for the Giourgiou spin-off looks cool AF. That should be a cracking show.
