I gotta say I'm loving the season, some real good character development.

Yes, season 2 is little better, I just wish they focused even more on different characters and not just mostly Michael. but overall it's a step in the right direction

Yeah I'm not sure it was a good idea, I mean explanation to this is pretty vague, and it seems to me they only changed it because many people complained about another ''bury our gays'' trophy..
Not that I don't appreciate it..

Not that I don't appreciate it.. I dunno... I know it's a new team running the show but I think they purposefull left the way open to space magic him back... I do like that the bridge crew are getting more lines and stuff to do. I am developing a pretty big crush on Detmer, and I want them to explore the story of how she got that eye/metal thing. It happened between the battle of the binary stars and Michael's arrival on Discovery. I assume it is to replace an injured eye, and if so it would be cool to compare her reasons for being "augmented" with those of Airiam, who is presumably a cyborg by choice.

I'm liking Tilly a heck of a lot more this season. Been fun watching her character develop.

I'd just like to say that Michelle Yeoh is kicking ass as Georgiou this season, both metaphorically and literally!

So... A mysterious force with advanced tech, hacking synthetics (or as close as Trek gets to them before Data) with the aim of wiping out all sentient life?

Haha I know its been done before but I love it. Also loved the call back to the original series. For the avoidance of doubt, I thought it was a great episode. They tied Pike's story into his original series episodes really well. There was interesting development in the relationships between Burnham and Spock, Georgiou and Leland and Stamets and Culber, as well as a fascinating look at Saru's changed personality. The black hole effects were really cool. It was just the reveal about this season's "big bad" that seemed a bit dull. Oh look. The entire galaxy is at stake. Again.

More and more... So this season's enemy is a rogue AI that is going to wipe out all sentient life, and it's making itself better by incorporating the tech of past civilisations. I mean... It's not EXACTLY the Reapers, but...

Like I'm not even thinking about the rogue AI, that ended tore me up.

Like I'm not even thinking about the rogue AI, that ended tore me up. Yeah... They finally give some detail on her background only to kill her off. Harsh...
But I thinking about the rest. From what Airiam said at the end, Spock is clearly wrong, and it really is all about Burnham. Why did the Red Angel first visit him? To save her? What makes him unique? His relationship with her.

I mean, the rogue AI turned the probe into a tentacled robo-monster. First thing I thought was "where's a prothean beacon when we need one?"

Another good episode. So... Is Leland dead or just... indoctrinated? Did not call the twist with Burnham's mum, but how are they going to explain the 100% genetic match? She ain't a clone so it should be 50%. I hope they do explain it. Maybe the AI spoofed them and included variations taken from the mum to fool them into thinking it was genuine? I do think that the AI probably wanted then to capture the red angel and so was playing them somehow. I liked Burnham's scenes with Spock and Ash after she punched Leland in the face, which was also fun. I do hope that Stamets and Culber can get back together. They seems to be gradually working towards it, but you never know. Their relationship was so loving in the first season.
