Yup, Sir Drell is right about the backstory of the very first RE, I think there's even a video on Youtube showing what the team intended to do at that time. Capcom finally gave an exact date for release of Revelations and Revelations 2 on Nintendo Switch! Honestly, I was already hesitating to buy the console but with those babies, I'll get it for sure. I just hope they'll port (again and again haha) REmaster, 0, 4, 5 and 6 on it... What do you guys think? |

I started playing RE 10 years ago when I knew it was from Devil may cry 3 creators. RE4 is the first one in the series I played. I liked it back then. Reminds me of DMC3 a lot. I guess they used similar backgrounds\shaders\or something. Then I played RE5 and then RE6. RE6 is my favourite. I like Chris`s campaign most and not only because it has first, only and last RE «gay couple» in it but because adventurous action plot too. And I like to play coop games. That`s why I also like RE5. It has best coop mechanics in video games in general at least for me. You can exchange inventory items with your partner and help them when they are injured and feel solidarity\cohesion (too bad developers removed inventory exchange in RE6). RE5 also has archaeological elements and adventure and I like archeology and adventures. And replaying RE4 at the moment I gotta say I still like it too. So for me the order is this: 1st place – RE6 2nd place – RE4 (cultists`s chanting still very funny) 3rd place – RE5 I also played RE2 and didn`t like it – bad camera\tank controls, zero ammo = not fun - game shall be fun not a job. Didn`t like RE1, RE0, RE Revelations 1 and 2 same reason as RE2. Though at least camera\view in revelations was ok. Revelations 2 is the worst IMO - too dark theme, too many blood\meat. Eaw! And I didn`t play RE7 and never will cause I have severe motion sickness from first person view. I was really disappointed when they reveal it will be first person.  |

I really don't like RE7, even if it's closer to original RE, but it's really not, I don't care if they wanted it as FPS, but they made it with fixed camera for RE1-2-3 and some spinoffs, so those are ''original'' for me (and many gamers/fans loved it too), also I liked RE1 and RE0 remakes, RE Revelations 1 was average to me, but I liked RE Revelations 2, dark bloody theme aka Silent Hill was a cool change for once  As for modern, main series RE games, I like RE5, RE6, RE4 the most, even when RE6 have it's issues it's still RE game for me, and Chris & Piers story is great and cute but also dramatic at the end  |

Thank you His relationship with Jill is forged with camaraderie and friendship, they never have shared romantic feelings or scenes, I mean I hug my friends too XD what it's great about this character is that he has never showed feelings or attraction towards female characters like Leon, so there's a tiny spark of hope  ofc this is game from a A+++ company and RE fandom is not lgbtq friendly, I mean I think there's no such a thing like a fandom free of homophobia in the gaming hating community  you're welcome! tumblr is full of Chris gayness  |

But in RE5 he is too much obsessed with her. Of course I would be upset too if my friend was kidnapped, but he was too much like Nero from DMC4 running around shouting KYRIEEE JIIIIIIIIL!!!!!  this is game from a A+++ company and RE fandom is not lgbtq friendly, I mean I think there's no such a thing like a fandom free of homophobia in the gaming hating community At least we can discuss our favourite games here. phew! you're welcome! tumblr is full of Chris gayness Oh, I will definitely check it out  |

And speaking of Parker… he had something going on between him and that red haired villain dude Raymond. Hmmm, the plot thickens.  |

Yeah, while I would love gay Chris to be canon...I'm fine with them leaving it ambiguous. At least we got all that sweet Piers/Chris subtext and we know he isn't attracted to Jill romantically. I just don't want him to show any attraction to females...it's something I worry about every time! We've been lucky so far but for how long? Anyway, it is a bit disappointing that RE has no canon LGBT representation outside of non-canon ORC with Crispin Jettingham. (He is hot though!)  Anyway I've always had my own little headcanon about half the members of S.T.A.R.S. being LGBT. I ship Richard/Chris and Joseph/Brad is actually pretty popular among fans! It's adorable.  I also like to consider Edward and Forest bisexual. Yeah...I spent a lot of time obsessed with RE, haha. Luckily it's easy enough to see this as "canon" with the info we were given on the members of S.T.A.R.S.! Maybe someday we will get actual representation in this amazing franchise. |

Then I saw that people shipped Joseph and Brad...and I always considered Brad to be gay so I started shipping them and it is so adorable! ...And just because they can't all be gay I had to sacrifice Edward as a bisexual, lol. I had always seen Forest and bisexual though. I think the only confirmed straight guys are Enrico, Wesker, Barry, and Kenneth. Jill is implied to have a boyfriend in RE2 as well. So...yeah while this is totally irrelevant because they are such minor characters, I like having these little details as part of Chris' earlier life.

So...I was wearing my Chris Redfield shirt today and some cute guy sat next to me and complimented me on it. He then asked me about Resident Evil and we had a nice little talk...until he asked me about RE6 and I mentioned that I like Nivanfield. Then he got a bit quiet and I am guessing he wasn't comfortable with it, haha. Such a shame really, I never get to meet other RE fans! I love Nivanfield and have no shame about it. |

I've been feeling very nostalgic for the Resident Evil games recently. I somehow ended up listening to the soundtracks of the classic games and it just brought back a lot of feelings and memories. This series has been with me for so many years now. I remember being obsessed with the franchise during my high school days...that feels like a lifetime ago now... It's been too long since I have been able to just sit down and properly enjoy the games from the beginning to end. I have a lot of games I want to play at the moment, but I think I'm going to prioritize Resident Evil. I'm going to enjoy going through them all again so much and think back to all the good memories this series has given me! I've also been feeling pretty nostalgic for the Silent Hill games...and just classic survival horror games in general! They defined my teen years and I remember eagerly getting into the fandoms and exploring the lore deeply. It's been over a decade since I first was terrified by a Silent Hill 4 demo I had and first began exploring the survival horror genre and this year marks a decade since I first began exploring the Silent Hill series properly, beginning with Silent Hill 3. I'm going to end up burying myself in survival horror games pretty soon if things go well! As soon as I finish the Resident Evil games for the millionth time, I will move on to Silent Hill and other underrated classic like Clock Tower 3 and Haunting Ground as well as a few I have stashed away in my collection yet have never played - like The X-Files PS2 game! Yeah, I know this is a Resident Evil thread, but we don't gave one for other classic horror games so why not discuss them here as well? |

Resident Evil 2 is an amazing game to this day and they've already shown us what a good REmake can be. I know many fans (myself included) are hoping they'll follow in the footsteps of the first remake and stay true to what classic Resident Evil was. They've already shown that they can get it right with RE7. Going back to RE4 is just asking for failure. RE4 is the game that ruined the franchise for over a decade. It's NOT what RE2 should be, and it's nowhere near being a survival horror game...or even horror at all. It's bad enough they've excluded Alyson Court after leading her (and fans) on for years...I just want them to get this one right. I mean...I'll probably still play it to see what it's like...but they have a lot of work to do in order to respectfully bring RE2 to modern times. |
