Over the shoulder is fine for me, even when classic RE1-3 had fixed camera angles   P.S. I heard that we will have a choice in first person cam and third person hmn.. More options is always cool I say  I'll be honest and say Resi 4 ruined classic fixed camera for me. True, but I can't imagine RE4 with classic fixed cameras  For me personally RE is ruined by RE7' first person camera. I can take fixed cam, even over the shoulder or full third person cam, but first person cam in not FPS games is not for me. |

Meh RE is dead to me, I should not be bitching and take all your excitement from you guys so I'm out! Enjoy this! Resident Evil isn't dead! This remake is going to be one of the greatest things ever!!! I totally agree with you that it is ridiculous that they redesigned Claire to "modernize" her (and Ada as well) which doesn't make any sense...because this is a 90s game that takes place in the 90s....but... FIXED CAMERA ANGLES MIGHT BE IN!!!! Apparently there is the option to play a "classic mode" or the more modern over-the-shoulder and the game balances accordingly! You even get to see the fixed camera perspective briefly in the trailer!
If this is really the case they can't go wrong with this one! Not only that, but you also have the option to use the original soundtrack!!!! Claire is also getting a much-requested alternate outfit...her original prototype design known as "Elza Walker"!!! (Funny enough...she's actually getting an extra alternate outfit for a total of three while Leon only gets two...while in the original she only had one and Leon had the extra!)  Those are pre-order outfits though...so who knows what other alternate outfits they might include in the game itself! I'm personally hoping they include Claire's original 1998 outfit just because it so different from what she was given here as well as the original bonus outfits! The new gameplay trailer was so good.
I'm very, very excited about this one, more than anything! If it really is true that we can use the classic perspective...I'll be so conflicted about playing it in a modern perspective with the new soundtrack or the classic perspective with the original soundtrack! Still very sad they decided to exclude the original actresses, especially Alyson Court, but I'll give the new cast a chance!

I really hope you're right. Gonna be really wary though, I'm so tired of getting my hopes up with RE or TR. Like it's not good for me, so I'd rather ignore it and have healthy state of mind. Blasphemy Yeah I prefer the classic style for these games as well. They don't make games like them anymore and I miss those beautiful, atmospheric shots that were placed so well. But I am trying to go into this with an open mind as I love Resident Evil Dead Aim which was a blend of over-the-shoulder and first person...but still felt like a classic Resident Evil experience. Resident Evil 7 was also pretty great and it really felt like a classic experience but in first person...but I totally feel like it could have been much better in third person!
But yeah...totally excited about the Elza outfit and I really hope they also include Leon's original prototype design as well and the original 90s outfits for Claire, Ada, and Sherry.
I think most of the blame has to go to the studio that is doing the voice-over though because there were several that wanted to use Alyson and she had been in contact with Capcom about it...but the company that won the contract decided to go non-union which excluded Alyson! Ugh...I would've loved to have had Alyson Court, Lisa Jai, and Sally Cahill voicing their characters again. It's not the same without them.  Alyson and Lisa recently did a podcast together where they talked about their experiences with Resident Evil and their own friendship and it really sounded like they would've loved to return to the roles!
Really, really hoping this thing about the "classic mode" is true so I can enjoy this game to the fullest!

They still have some time left until January 2019, but it already looks very good! Leon running animations looks a little funny and gay  but they will improve them I'm sure of it, camera is not that bad either, thanks them for including TP view! About Claire look.. They changed her look so many times through all their games that I don't even care anymore lol |

I am going into this game as blind as possible so I can get a fresh experience without any knowledge of the changes!  I think the limited inventory is a very important part of the classic gameplay so I was surprised they gave you two extra slots from the start...wondering if that means you will need to carry more key items at once ir if items take up multiple slots. But yeah RE7 handled this aspect very well and was still very much a survival horror game. |
