So...this happened. Victory! Ladies, hope you're using the Bi-Sera Romance mod. It's on Nexus Mods.

I played a little DAO and a little DA2, because concentrating is hard and I can never decide which game I want to play. Tabris survived the events of Ostagar and is begrudgingly traveling alongside Alistair and Morrigan, the former because he keeps following her and the latter because she and her mom are spooky swamp witches and she's scared of them. She does have her dog, though, and he's nice even if he does smell bad... kinda like Soris, actually. Lothering seems like a sad sack of a town filled with people who ought to be running faster than they are. There's a giant in a cage and an Orlesian who's clearly bored of the cloistral life. Tabris is Not Enjoying Any of This. A few years later in Kirkwall, Varnell is executing Qunari in the undercity and the Viscount wants to lie about it for reasons... this will surely end well. Ladies, hope you're using the Bi-Sera Romance mod. It's on Nexus Mods. Why would ladies use a bi Sera mod? She's gay. Unless you meant Cass.

Bi Sera is for straight guys. *sigh* I don't know if there's a Bi Cassandra mod. I know there's something for Solas.
Wait, I checked. There is a Bi Cassandra Mod. Nothing for Vivienne, at least as far as I could find.
Anyway, I enjoy making out with Cullen, even if he appears to be kissing my neck. Which would be okay if he was kissing the side of the neck instead of the front. Crossing fingers that we get male and female KISAs in DA4. You'd think BW would realize that it's something desired. It's not like there's any loss to anyone by making characters bi instead of this or that.

I honestly wouldn't want to romance Sera with a man. I'm happy playing as a woman. I get the point of bi mods for straight characters, since there's so little gay representation out there, but as a straight guy I'm very happy to step out of myself and RP someone different to me.

It's funny because, without mods, I wouldn't be able to romance Cullen. I can't bring myself to play female to make it happen. Too invested in my own manhood I guess.

I have only ever played any Bioware games (minus Baldur’s Gate and SWTOR) on console. So I’ve never had a modded anything, including appearance, let alone romance. Vanilla game all the way for me. Which is why I’ve never experienced the Sebastian, Solas, or Cullen romances. I DO have a Lady Aeducan Warden who romanced Alistair, but broke up with him to convince him to marry Anora. And my only female Inquisitor surprisingly ended up romancing Blackwall, even though I fully intended her to be a lesbian. I suppose the heart wants what the heart wants. No room for gay romances with those straight boys for me.
The one that hurts the most, though, is Ser Gilmore. A ginger KISA?!? Are you kidding me!?!
LOL!

So I finally slogged my way through DA2. I think that it confirmed a few things for me. Mostly that DA2 is a garbage fire of a game. Those mobs of randoms? Ugh. But, more importantly, that there's a really solid story with some great characters hidden underneath absolutely trash game design elements. My husband, who knows nothing about Dragon Age was watching me play (a total rarity, since he's not a "watch you play" kind of spouse) and it was when I was doing the 2nd Act Sister Petrice quest. And he was getting super into it (sidenote: he kept calling Petrice "Mike Pence" lol). So it's good stuff. Just poorly executed. Anyway, here's a summation of Griffin Hawke's adventures: Lost Isabela because she just wasn't good enough friends to come back; friends with everyone else but Merrill (full rivalry with her); romanced Fenris (it was a lot less fun than I remember it being); knifed Anders, but sided with the mages because of Circle Mage Bethany; took the aggressive (i.e. jerk) route for almost everything. It wasn't as enjoyable at all. I really do think that sarcastic male mage Hawke is the way to go, with Templar Carver and an Anders romance. THAT story is worth it. But I'll have to see if I can stomach another playthrough anytime soon. Anyway, time to start my new DA:I playthrough with that save state loaded. Let's see if it pays off. I'm going to really TRY for a male elf mage. But if I can't make one that is passably attractive, I'll default to a male qunari mage. I've never completed the game with a mage (in fact, I don't think I've ever gotten past the Hinterlands with one), so that will be fun and different.

Lolol this bit from Sera's romance kills me. Sera: ...because the roof was a really bad idea. Can't do it on a roof. Inky: My roof. My rules.

So, several months ago I introduced a friend of mine to Dragon Age, and he fell in love with the series. I figured I'd do a little update on his behalf, since he seems disinclined to join any fan forums. 😉 He played DAO several times - as an elf mage, a casteless dwarf, I don't even remember what else. He made a lot of "good" choices and then went back and chose the more "evil" options (like slaughtering the Dalish, desecrating the Ashes...). He adores Morrigan, thinks Leliana is kinda preachy, thinks Zevran is skeevy, and he loathes Alistair who apparently always leaves him by the end of the game, so I guess he likes Loghain LOL. I know he romanced Morrigan with his Surana and Leliana with his Brosca. He also romanced Alistair, maybe also with the dwarf girl..? Anyway, he loved DAO and he especially loved being a mage. And Morrigan. All the love for Morrigan. He played through DA2 like three times in a row which.... Jesus, I love DA2 but even I don't have that kind of stamina. 😂 IIRC he played as a male mage, a female mage, and a... female warrior? He sided with the mages first and then the templars. Carver ended up as a templar at least once and Bethany ended up as a Grey Warden. He romanced Isabela and Merrill and tried to romance Sebastian but got bored. Got his butt kicked in the Legacy DLC. Had to make sure he bought that one. 👀 Now he has DAI and I'm so excited for him to start playing tomorrow! He knows multiple races are back and that it takes place in Haven - which he recognizes from DAO and is really excited about. He's already wanting to play a qunari mage. I'm just SO excited for him to play this, because the mage and templar quests are so awesome and I know he's going to love them, he's going to recognize Leliana and Cassandra and Varric, he's going to LOSE HIS SHIT when Morrigan and Kieran show up, I'm psyched for his reaction to Corypheus..! I just love introducing new people to Dragon Age. Brings a tear to my fanatical eye. :')

I had planned to get a move on with the DAI game I've had going, but when I went to click on DAI on my desktop, the DAO icon caught my eye. DAO has always been my least favorite of the series, so I've only ever finished the game & DAA on one character (my rogue Cousland who married Alistair & became queen), though I'd gotten fairly far with several other characters. This time I decided to (re)start a Dalish character, since it had been so long since I'd played through that origin and that character only made it to Ostagar. I was hooked! I don't know why I'd forgotten how great the story in this game is. I really really liked playing through with a Dalish also. She's currently trying to figure out what's going on with the darkspawn in DAA. It's been a good run. I plan to start a DA2 game next, and then DAI after that, continuing the saga. I know you can set this all up in the keep, and I have done that before, but there is something really special about actually playing through with the character and making the choices that affect the next games. It's way better this way.

Claudia Black's voice just turns my knees to jelly. It's great fun romancing her again. Sera overtook her for favourite DA romance because there's more depth there, especially after Trespasser, but only by a fraction... And when Morrigan talks about a romanced warden at Skyhold...

It's way better this way. There's something special about revisiting the games with a new character, isn't there? It's like, "oh yeah, there's all this other content here!" 😂 What I've gotten in the habit of doing is setting up a world state in the Keep... and then going back and playing through it for real. So I have a blueprint for what I want to do, but also I can let the characters guide me if it turns out they want to make different choices. So, several months ago I introduced a friend of mine to Dragon Age, and he fell in love with the series. I'm so frustrated with him because he started his first playthrough with the default world state! So no lovey Morrigan comments for him, but he promised he'd mess with the Keep for his next playthrough. 😋 I really, really, reeeeaally want to finish Morrigan's romance this time around. I love her character and I think her romance has a lot of depth, I've just never been able to stick with it for a whole playthrough + Witch Hunt.

vertigomez Ah, I'm in a similar situation! I introduced my boyfriend to Dragon Age a few months ago and he loves the series! He played through Origins as a female rogue Cousland and romanced Alistair, marrying him in the end. He did start a new character for Awakening though. In Dragon Age 2 he played as a male rogue and romanced Anders, although he did kill Anders in the end. I was just happy that he loved Sebastian as much as I do and wanted to romance him. He's starting Inquisition tomorrow and is very excited about the Iron Bull romance because he's always waned to romance a Qunari ever since he met Sten. I honestly think him loving Dragon Age is what finally made me quit denying my feelings for him and embrace the wonderful relationship we are in now.
We plan on eventually playing through the games together so I can introduce him to the wonderful world of mods. He wants to experience the m/m Alistair romance and I want him to see the amazing m/m Cullen romance as well as the Ser Gilmore mod for Origins.
